What should I do if my five-year-old child is nearsighted?

Myopia is not unfamiliar to people, because in today's society, myopia patients are as numerous as hemorrhoid patients. Because it can be seen from the consumption of myopia glasses, how to prevent and treat myopia is very important for parents and friends. It is important to help children maintain good living habits in a timely manner. So, what should we do if a five-year-old child is nearsighted?

Usually, when a child shows symptoms of myopia, parents should go to the hospital to determine whether it is true myopia or false myopia.

Pseudomyopia: Pseudomyopia may not be myopia. Parents only need to pay attention to supervising their children's eye habits and restore their vision through proper rest and physical therapy.

True myopia: Once a child is diagnosed with true myopia and it is above 100 degrees, he or she will need to wear glasses for correction.

If the child only has mild myopia, as long as he pays attention to regular care, develops good eye habits, and cooperates with the following treatments, his myopia can be restored to normal.

1. Eye movement method

When you rotate your head up, down, left, and right, your eyeballs also need to move with it.

2. Blinking method

Tilt your head back and blink your eyes frequently to help get the blood flowing. When your eyes feel a little tired, do 2-3 blink exercises.

3. Alternating hot and cold compresses

Prepare a hot towel and a cold towel respectively. Place the hot towel on your eyes for about five minutes, and then place the cold towel on your eyes for five minutes.

4. Eye gymnastics

Point your middle finger between the eye socket and the bridge of the nose, and rub your face back and forth with your palm for five minutes. Then move your neck slowly left and right. Close your eyes again and tap the back of your neck ten times with your fists.

5. Look far and near

First look into the distance for three minutes, then look at your palm for 1-2 minutes, and then look at the distance for three minutes. Switching several times a day can effectively eliminate eye fatigue.

6. Combine work and rest to prevent eye diseases

Don't let your children read or watch TV for a long time. Let them take a proper rest.
