Baby has a fever once every two weeks

Fever is a normal physiological phenomenon, but if it is not treated in time and the temperature is allowed to rise, it is very likely to cause dehydration of the body, which will in turn have a huge impact on the human body. Babies under 3 years old are more likely to have fever and other conditions because they have weaker resistance. So how should parents properly handle the situation when their baby has a fever? How to effectively reduce the adverse effects of fever on baby's growth?

Drink more water: It helps sweating. In addition, water has the function of regulating temperature, which can lower body temperature and replenish water lost in the body.

The diet should be mainly liquid, nutritious, light and easily digestible, such as vegetable porridge, noodle soup, etc.

Add or remove clothes appropriately: If the baby's limbs are cold and he is shivering violently, it means he needs warmth, so he should be covered with a blanket; if his limbs and hands and feet are warm and he is sweating all over, it means he needs to dissipate heat, so he can wear fewer clothes.

Keep the indoor temperature and air circulation appropriate, and minimize visits from relatives and friends to prevent cross infection and help the baby rest.

Common physical cooling methods for fever:

① Cold compress method: This method is simple and easy. Apply a cold towel to the forehead. After the towel becomes hot, soak it in cold water and apply it again. Using a cold water bag or ice pack is more effective than applying a cold towel to the forehead.

② Wipe the whole body with warm water or take a bath: Undress the baby, rub the whole body with a warm towel or take a bath. This can expand the blood vessels in the baby's skin and dissipate body qi; in addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat. Take a bath for about 10 to 15 minutes each time, about once every 4 to 6 hours.

③Use a cold water pillow: A cold water pillow can be used when the rectal temperature is above 38°C, which utilizes the lower temperature for local heat dissipation. The soft cold water pillows currently on the market are very convenient and not too cold, so they can be used by older infants and children. However, it is not recommended for infants under 6 months old, because it is difficult for infants to turn their bodies, which may cause local overcooling and frostbite or hypothermia.

When faced with problems that recur in babies, parents should pay attention to them. It may be due to genetic factors that cause the baby to have long-term problems, including environmental factors, namely the natural environment and social environment, etc. When a problem occurs, you should go to a regular large hospital for treatment in time, listen to the doctor's opinions and suggestions, and let your baby recover as soon as possible.
