What should I do if my child has enlarged nasal conchae?

Because children have relatively poor resistance, they often have cold symptoms when the weather is changeable. Repeated colds may induce rhinitis. Long-term rhinitis will cause the nasal mucosa to become congested and swollen, leading to hypertrophy of the nasal concha. When nasal concha hypertrophy occurs, symptoms such as difficulty breathing, runny nose, and headache often occur, which will affect children's learning. So, what should we do when our children have enlarged nasal conchae?

First: Increase physical exercise and persevere in it to strengthen your physical fitness and improve the body's resistance to disease. Starting from summer, insist on washing your face and wiping your nose with cold water to increase your ability to resist cold. When it is cold or the climate changes drastically, you should avoid catching cold, prevent viral upper respiratory tract infections, and wear a mask when going out.

Second: Do not blow your nose forcefully when you have a stuffy nose, so as to avoid rupturing the nasal capillaries and causing nosebleeds. It can also prevent bacterial mucus from entering the nasopharynx and causing otitis media.

Third: Use self-nose massage technique, use the index and middle fingers of both hands to massage the bridge of the nose at the inner corner of the eye at the same time, from top to bottom once, for a total of 80 times; use the middle finger to rub about 1 cm on both sides of the nose, and massage in a circular motion, for a total of 70 times; use the index, middle and ring fingers of both hands to massage the center of the eyebrows at the same time, and then massage outward along the eyebrows to the temples on both sides, for a total of 60 times. Massage can be repeated, once in the morning, noon and evening. It can effectively prevent the occurrence of rhinitis and improve the condition of nasal concha hypertrophy.

Fourth: Use warm water to wash the nasal scabs, and then use a cotton swab dipped in raw honey to apply to the affected area of the nose. Apply once a day until there is no pain or itching in the nasal cavity, no secretions or scabs form, and the sense of smell is restored.

Fifth: Eat food that is easy to digest and absorb. Avoid eating raw, cold food, smoking, drinking, spicy and stimulating food.

The above five methods are some measures and precautions that family members should take to treat their children when they have enlarged nasal conchas. If the treatment described above is not effective, you must see a doctor and ask the doctor to provide symptomatic treatment for your child. The child's illness must be treated actively and should never be delayed.
