How to diagnose your baby's skin allergy to milk

Babies need to supplement milk nutrition as they grow, but not all babies can drink milk without worries. Some babies will develop symptoms such as eczema, diarrhea, and abdominal pain after drinking milk. When these symptoms appear, mothers dare not easily judge whether their baby is allergic to milk. So how can they diagnose whether their baby's skin is allergic to milk?

If you suspect your baby is allergic to milk, you can take your baby to the hospital and ask the doctor to do a special examination. Before the examination, you should carefully describe your baby's medical history and physical development to the doctor so that the doctor can make a judgment. The main methods for detecting milk allergy are: skin test, blood test, exclusion-provocation test.

Skin test: This is a quick and simple test that involves pricking, scratching or injecting a small amount of the most common allergens in daily life into the baby's skin and then observing any changes in the baby's skin. If the baby's skin becomes red or swollen, it means that the result of the allergen test is positive, indicating that the baby is allergic to this substance.

Blood test: A serum test is done by drawing your child's blood to determine if the allergy is present.

Elimination-provocation test: First, milk is eliminated from the baby's diet, and then milk is reintroduced under the close supervision of a doctor who will make a judgment based on the baby's physical reaction.

After understanding the above, we know how to diagnose baby's skin allergy to milk, so once the baby is allergic to milk, we must try to avoid directly eating milk protein products, or eating foods with added milk formula. Because sometimes severe allergies can endanger our lives. In short, if you are allergic to milk, you must not drink milk products.
