How to deal with children's fever in summer

The weather is hot in summer, and many children are often sweating and their faces are red. Adults think it is caused by the heat. If the child refuses to eat or is in poor spirits, you should use a thermometer to measure his temperature. If he has a fever, you should take timely measures. The general body temperature of children is below 38.5℃. Physical cooling can be performed at home, the indoor temperature can be adjusted to an appropriate level, and nutrition and water should be replenished in time. Don't use antipyretics blindly, as they can only reduce fever temporarily. Children with a body temperature above 38.5℃ should go to the hospital for treatment in time. Parents can use antipyretics on their own before sending them to the hospital to prevent high temperature convulsions on the way.

Children with fever consume a lot of calories and lose a lot of water, so they need to get enough rest and drink plenty of water. When they sweat too much, they should add a little salt to the water to replenish electrolytes. Provide light, easily digestible food. The room temperature and humidity should be appropriate.

To reduce body temperature: Take antipyretics once every four hours and drink warm water after taking the medicine. The main symptom of exogenous fever is sweating, so try to use ice packs as little as possible.

For infants and young children, a fever is considered when the body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees. Because the temperature regulation center in the brain of infants and young children is not yet fully developed, their body temperature will fluctuate with the environment. For example: if a baby is held in an adult's arms for a little longer; or is covered with an extra layer of quilt, etc., the body temperature may reach around 37 degrees. As for 36.7 degrees, it is not a fever and may be related to the high ambient temperature. Parents should not be too nervous and keep the room temperature at around 26 degrees.

When children have a fever in the summer, many of them do not like to drink water. In fact, for children with fever, water can help the body cool down faster and can prevent and control the increase in body temperature. Therefore, for children who do not like to drink tasteless boiled water, you can prepare freshly squeezed juice for them to drink, which can replenish water and nutrition. In addition, children with fever have weak stomachs and should eat a light diet. If the child has a poor appetite, do not force him to eat to avoid vomiting.
