Is it normal for children to sweat during exercise?

Children are naturally active, so they love to play outside whenever they have a little free time. Including us adults, everyone liked to play outside when they were young, whether it was kicking a ball or playing hide-and-seek. After doing these exercises, we would sweat. Many parents do not understand this situation very well and are afraid that their children will sweat because sweating means they are prone to catching a cold. So, is it normal for children to sweat during exercise?

It is normal for children to sweat during exercise, because children's sweat glands are more developed, and the secretion of sweat glands is controlled by the autonomic nerve (vagus nerve). After falling asleep, the vagus nerve is excited, causing more sweating, usually on the head and face, but it will ease within one or two hours after falling asleep. If you keep sweating after sleeping, and the amount is relatively large, it may be a functional disorder of the autonomic nerve, which may be partly caused by calcium deficiency.

Generally, when your baby is tired from playing or sweating during exercise, do not blow the air on him/her as this may cause a cold. Let the baby dissipate the heat slowly by himself/herself. Wiping the sweat with a warm towel can prevent the sweat from clogging the pores and causing the growth of prickly heat. In addition, it is not advisable to drink water immediately after exercise. It is best to rest for about ten minutes before giving the baby warm water. This can better increase the baby's resistance.

In short, it is a good thing for children to like sports, and it is very normal to sweat during exercise. Parents only need to pay attention to wipe off the sweat on their children's bodies in time after sweating. If the clothes become wet, it is best to change the children's clothes. This way, children will not catch a cold due to excessive sweating and catching a chill.
