What should I do if my baby is bitten by fleas?

The appearance of fleas means that the room is not clean. It is easy to breed fleas in such an environment. Fleas often appear on cats and dogs. If there are these pets at home, fleas may appear. If the baby lives in such an environment, it will cause many bad symptoms. The baby will definitely be bitten by fleas because the baby's skin is very tender. Fleas and mosquitoes like to bite the baby. So what should the baby do if he is bitten by fleas?

Ways to eliminate bed bugs include:

(1) Scalding: Pour boiling water back and forth several times into the cracks of bed boards, bed frames, mattresses, and furniture. Soak clothes and sheets in boiling water. This will kill the adult bed bugs and their eggs.

(2) Filling gaps: Mix fenthion into a paste and fill the gaps in bed boards, bed frames, palm mattresses, furniture, walls, and floors. Check regularly after filling. If the putty is found to be falling off, it should be replenished immediately.

(3) Sun exposure: Put bedding, straw mats, palm cloth, etc. under the sun to dry. While exposing them to the sun, you should slap or turn over these items to shake out the bed bugs hiding inside and then dry them in the sun or kill them directly.

(4) Kill with drugs: 50% malathion or 50% fenthion can be diluted 100 times with water and sprayed on the walls or bed boards. The amount is calculated as 400 ml for each single bed. The effect of one medication can last for 2-4 months. The liquid medicine can be sprayed in lines in the gaps of furniture and wall cracks; or 50% DDT emulsion can be diluted 200 times with water and sprayed on places where bed bugs are active and live, with a dosage of 100 ml per square meter. You can also use a brush dipped in the liquid medicine and apply it into the gaps of bed boards, bed frames, palm mattresses, and furniture. This method is more effective in killing adult insects, but less effective against eggs, so it should be applied again 6 to 10 days after application. You can also dilute 2.5% Kesolin wettable powder 80-100 times with water and spray it on the bed or wall. The efficacy can last for two or three months. In collective units, you can fully expose the gaps in the furniture, hang up clothes, bedding, mats, etc., then close the doors and windows tightly, and use DDT emulsion to fumigate for 4 hours.

There are many types of fleas, and most species can suck the blood of a variety of animals (including rats, cats, dogs and humans). Normally, fleas often hide in damp and dark places such as rat holes, chicken coops, pig pens, under bed boards, and under kang mats. In addition to biting people and sucking blood, causing itching, fleas can also spread diseases such as plague, endemic typhus, and scrub typhus.

Ways to eliminate fleas include:

(1) Eliminate flea breeding grounds. Maintain good hygiene, vigorously exterminate rats, keep the ground and corners clean, remove dust, and leave no place for fleas to hide and reproduce.

(2) Use fire to kill fleas on the ground. If there are many fleas on the ground, you can burn the ground directly with flames or sprinkle hot ashes taken from the furnace on the ground to kill the adult fleas, eggs, nymphs and pupae. Be careful about fire when killing fleas in this way.

(3) Use drugs to kill fleas and rats on the ground. For example, sprinkle 2.5% trichlorfon (40 grams per square meter), 5% malathion powder (50 grams per square meter), 1% propoxur powder (30 grams per square meter), 0.5% permethrin (40 grams per square meter), 0.005% cypermethrin powder (25 grams per square meter) on the ground, or spray 1% trichlorfon aqueous solution or 1% malathion aqueous solution (100 ml per square meter) on the ground.

(4) Kill fleas on pets such as cats and dogs. Only by choosing safe and low-toxic drugs can the safety of people and pets be ensured. Wrap 1% pyrethrum powder, 5% malathion, and 1% propoxur powder in gauze and rub it against the fur of cats and dogs to kill fleas on them. You can also soak the whole body of cats and dogs in 0.5% iodine disulfide, 0.25% malathion, 0.1% permethrin, and 0.0025% cypermethrin aqueous solution for a medicated bath. After 30 minutes, take the pet out, wash it with clean water, and then blow dry its hair.

There are two types of lice that parasitize on humans: human lice and pubic lice. Human lice are further divided into two subspecies: body lice and pubic lice. In addition to biting people and sucking blood, causing itching, lice can also spread diseases such as epidemic typhus and relapsing fever.

The above is about the treatment method after the baby is bitten by fleas. During the treatment, you must first disinfect everything in the room. When the sun is strong, you can take out the baby’s quilts, sheets, and some clothes to expose them to the sun. This has a sterilization effect. After removing the bacteria, you need to clean the child’s room, and then use some medicine to treat it. The baby must also take a bath frequently after being bitten by fleas, and you can apply some floral water on the baby’s skin.
