What size bottle should a newborn use?

Newborns sometimes use bottles. When you buy bottles, there will not be pacifiers, but many businesses will give them away for free. The milk bottles used by newborns are very particular about both volume and material. The bottles used by newborns must not contain bisphenol A and must be shatter-resistant. Since bisphenol A can easily induce diabetes or heart disease, this substance must not be contained in newborn baby bottles. There are three common levels of capacity for baby bottles, namely 150, 180, and 260, all in milliliters.

The size of the bottle for a newborn baby needs to be determined according to the specific month. Generally speaking, the amount of breast milk for babies under one month old is about 100 to 120 ml at a time. The amount of breast milk for babies over one month old should be 120 to 200 ml at a time, and should be controlled at around 800 to 1000 ml a day. Some babies drink less.

Babies aged 0 to 1 month need a bottle with a capacity of at least 120 ml. Some mothers buy 240ml bottles directly for economic reasons. However, some mothers have reported that if they use a large-capacity bottle at the beginning, they always feel that the baby eats too little when feeding, and they feed more without realizing it.

When buying bottles for newborns, in addition to paying attention to the volume and material, you should also pay attention to the number of bottles. If your child is breastfed, you can buy 1 to 2 bottles with a volume of approximately 180 to 260 ml. If the newborn is mixed-fed, you need to choose 4 to 6 bottles with a volume of about 180 ml. Some newborns may only be successfully fed, in which case the number of bottles can be 4 to 6, and the volume of the bottle should be about 180 ml.
