How to care for children after phimosis surgery?

When children have phimosis, it will seriously hinder the development of the penis, and affect their reproductive health when they grow up. This requires parents to pay more attention to observation in normal times. If the child's foreskin is found to be phimosis, it is necessary to go to the hospital for phimosis dilation surgery. However, after the operation, parents must pay more attention to the care of the child. The following are the care precautions for children after phimosis surgery. I hope it will be helpful to you.

Men's experts especially remind parents and friends that the following points should be paid attention to in the postoperative care of phimosis dilation in children:

1. Regular household cleaning: Soak locally in 0.02% potassium permanganate solution daily for 10 to 15 minutes each time. Three cleanings are required.

2. Outpatient dressing change: After the operation, the dressing will be changed in the pediatric clinic for 3 to 10 days until the foreskin can be turned up smoothly, and the glans and the inner mucosa of the foreskin are smooth and free of infection.

3. Routine dressing change: Turn the foreskin up and rinse with 0.5% metronidazole solution. Apply erythromycin ointment on the wound where the foreskin and glans are separated, and then turn the foreskin back.

4. Dressing change for children with local edema of the foreskin: if there is still mild edema on the second day after surgery, a small amount of cortisone ointment should be applied; for a few children with severe local edema but no redness or swelling, after strict local disinfection, acupuncture and fluid drainage can be performed at the lowest point of the edema 1 to 2 times, and antibiotics can be intravenously dripped for 2 to 3 days. After the edema completely subsides, routine dressing changes can be performed.

5. Dressing change for children with tight or thick foreskin opening: For children with tight or thick foreskin opening, the foreskin opening must be repeatedly expanded and relaxed with an air bag or hemostatic forceps before changing the dressing until it can be smoothly turned up.

6. Pay attention to diet: Children should eat light food at home during this period and avoid spicy food, as this will easily cause inflammation of the wound.

The editor would like to emphasize here that it is strictly forbidden for children and their families to pull back the foreskin without the doctor's permission. If the foreskin is pulled back without permission, it will greatly affect the child's reproductive function. In severe cases, it may cause foreskin tearing. The editor recommends that you receive correct treatment under the guidance of a doctor. The editor hopes that your child will recover as soon as possible.
