How to identify hernia in children?

Many children will suffer from various illnesses after birth, but many parents are scared by the fact that their children nowadays have hernia problems. It is also very bad for the children to have surgery, so many parents think that their children have hernia when they have a little illness. It is not good to worry too much. Parents can learn about the identification methods of pediatric hernia, so that you can be more calm and not too panicked.

Pediatric hernias mostly occur in boys. During the embryonic period, a channel is formed when the testicles are formed and fall into the scrotum. This channel should be closed after birth. If it cannot be closed, the large intestine, small intestine, omentum, etc. in the abdominal cavity can enter the channel and form a hernia.

If it is just an ordinary hernia, it tends to heal itself before the child is two and a half years old. After diagnosis in the hospital, with the help of a doctor, let the child lie flat and push gently with your hands to reduce the hernia.

A hernia belt is used to control the hernia. However, if incarceration occurs, emergency surgery is necessary, otherwise serious complications such as intestinal necrosis may occur, even endangering life. Incarceration is mostly caused by increased abdominal pressure when a child cries, which causes the hernia to suddenly bulge out and be unable to retract, causing severe pain. The symptoms include the hernia being more enlarged, and the child crying abnormally due to pain.

In addition, if the child is over two and a half years old and still has hernia, do not consider the possibility of self-healing. Instead, elective surgery should be performed to suture the unclosed channel. Generally speaking, recurrence is rare after surgery.

If a child suffers from hernia, parents should pay attention to observation and seek medical attention immediately if the child starts crying abnormally. Parents should also try to reduce strenuous exercise or crying of the child and moisten the intestines to avoid sudden increase in abdominal pressure leading to incarceration. It is also necessary to use a hernia belt for restraint under the guidance of a doctor to prevent the moving hernia from damaging the testicular blood vessels and affecting development.

After all, children's immunity is not very good. Otherwise, you will definitely feel very headache. This is very helpful for both you and your child.
