Excessive fright can cause convulsions

Excessive fright can cause convulsions

Most mothers know that they should try to avoid scaring their children in the process of raising them, because scaring children is likely to have a dual impact on their psychology and body, especially when they are asleep. If the child is awakened by scaring, it is particularly easy to cause whole body convulsions, and even unable to fall asleep for a long time because of the scaring. So, will excessive scaring lead to convulsions?

Can a child be frightened and have convulsions?

Fright can cause convulsions, but there are many causes of convulsions, such as febrile convulsions, encephalitis, meningitis, epilepsy, electrolyte disorders, etc. It is recommended not to take it lightly. If convulsions persist, it is recommended to visit the neurology department of a children's hospital. If there are no more convulsions, it is recommended to do an EEG after two weeks. Frequent convulsions may affect intellectual development.

How to prevent children from being frightened

To prevent your baby from being frightened, you need to give him safe and considerate care. Mommy should pay attention to the following 5 points:

1. Comfort and hug your baby as much as possible during the day. The warmer and more intimate the parents' embrace is, the more stable the baby's emotions will be.

2. Provide your baby with a good sleeping environment. If your baby goes to bed early, try not to watch TV in the room and don't talk too loudly.

3. Know clearly what your baby likes or dislikes, do not force your baby to accept things he does not want to do, or use a gentler approach. For example, wrap a baby who doesn't like taking a bath in a big towel before taking a bath, which will relieve the baby's nervousness; play with the baby first, and then hold the baby after the stranger is familiar with him.

4. When taking your baby out, do not take him out for too long and be sure to avoid crowded and noisy public places. If your baby is crying, fussy, or sleepy, it is best to go home immediately.

5. Give your baby a reasonable diet. Good nutrition not only brings your baby a healthy body and reduces diseases, but also means giving your baby good intellectual, social and psychological development.

If you find that your child has convulsions after being frightened, you should go to the hospital for a relevant examination, because many diseases can cause convulsions. The answer to the question "Will children have convulsions when they are frightened?" cannot be generalized. After all, different people are frightened to different degrees, and the specific reactions of the body are also different.
