Reasons for incomplete hearing development in newborns

The hearing development of newborns is very scary. Recently, the phenomenon of incomplete hearing development in newborns has caused many parents to worry. We all know that many children around us have newborn hearing development problems. This disease has a great impact on us. Many people have sought medical treatment everywhere and have not received good treatment. Not only has it taken up a lot of time and energy, but it has also had a great impact on the normal work and life of the children and their parents. Many people are eager to find a timely and effective related content? Let us now understand the reasons for the hearing development of newborns.

Cause:

According to the latest statistics, there are nearly 2 million people suffering from hearing impairment in my country, of which children account for about 50%. It seems that hearing care must start from an early age. There are six main reasons for hearing loss in children.

1. Reason 1: Ear picking

When children complain that their ears are itchy, some parents will pick up hairpins, short wooden sticks, knitting needles and other objects, or even use their long fingernails to dig blindly in their children's ears. At this time, if the child is a little careless or accidentally bumped into by others, it is very easy to puncture the thin eardrum deep in the ear canal of the child, causing the eardrum to rupture or perforate. It will not only cause ear pain and bleeding, but also make the outer ear and the middle ear cavity directly connected, so bacteria can take advantage of the opportunity to enter and cause infection. You must know that the eardrum is involved in sound conduction. If the eardrum is perforated, it will directly affect the child's hearing.

2. Reason 2: Otitis media

Due to the anatomical characteristics of the Eustachian tube, young children often develop bacterial infections in the middle ear cavity and acute suppurative otitis media when they have a cold, are sucking milk in a supine position, or are nauseous or vomiting. When the pus in the middle ear cavity continues to increase, the child will cry because of the worsening ear pain. The pressure caused by the increased pus in the middle ear cavity can also cause perforation and rupture of the eardrum. If medical treatment is not sought promptly or the treatment is not thorough, it will cause chronic suppurative otitis media. If the eardrum is continuously damaged and the perforation becomes larger and larger, the impact on hearing will become increasingly serious.

3. Reason three: drug poisoning

When children suffer from colds, headaches and fever, if doctors blindly inject them with ototoxic drugs such as streptomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, etc., it will cause poisoning of the inner ear auditory organs in a small number of children with allergic constitutions, a significant decrease in hearing, or even deafness. If the condition occurs before a child learns to speak, the child may become deaf-mute. According to statistics, deafness caused by the use of this type of drugs accounts for 97% of drug-induced deafness. Therefore, the use of these ototoxic drugs should be avoided as much as possible.

4. Reason 4: Trauma

Causes of ear trauma include: when children are naughty, some parents get angry and slap their children without knowing the reason; during festive occasions, firecrackers suddenly explode next to children's ears, and the huge air waves rush directly to the eardrum in the ear canal; when swimming, one ear of the child hits the water surface first; the above injuries will cause the eardrum to rupture or perforate, directly leading to hearing loss.

5. Reason 5: Noise

Some children like to turn up the volume very high when watching TV or listening to music. Some children also like to listen to headphones at a high volume and wear them for hours, unwilling to take them off whether walking or doing homework. Little do people know that long-term exposure to high-decibel noise can cause adverse stimulation to the nerve endings of the inner ear auditory organs and cause great damage to hearing.

6. Reason 6: Periauricular lesions

Lesions of the adjacent organs around the ear may sometimes involve the middle ear cavity, causing hearing loss. Such as rhinitis, sinusitis, and tonsils.

The above content introduces us to how to treat the hearing development of newborns. By understanding the above content, we can know the treatment methods for the hearing development of newborns. We can tell the above methods to everyone around us so that all patients can recover their health as soon as possible and let the babies grow up healthily and happily. At the same time, it can also relieve our parents' anxiety and make a family happier.
