Nursing care for mild hypoxia in newborns

How to care for a newborn with mild hypoxia? Hypoxia is a very dangerous condition. We all know that once the human body lacks oxygen, many symptoms will appear, such as difficulty breathing, purple face, insufficient blood supply to the brain, etc. Severe cases can even threaten the patient's life. Because newborns are separated from the protection of their mothers and their organs are not fully developed, if they have poor physical constitutions, they are very likely to suffer from mild hypoxia after birth. This makes many parents very worried. So if a newborn suffers from mild hypoxia, how should parents care for it?

1. First of all, you must maintain a quiet indoor environment, and do not hold or move the baby frequently.

2. Pay attention to keeping warm. Overheating can easily cause the baby to lose water and become dehydrated; too cold can cause the body temperature to not rise or neonatal scleredema. The ideal temperature for your baby's room in winter should be between 18 and 22 degrees. If conditions do not allow, you can place a hot water bottle around the newborn's swaddling clothes. The water temperature should be 40-60 degrees. Change the water every 1-2 hours to keep the baby's body temperature between 36-37 degrees. Also maintain a certain air humidity.

3. Feed the baby carefully. You can also use milk and water in a ratio of 1:1, 2:1 to 3:1, and add 5% sugar water to feed the baby. Gradually increase the proportion of milk, mainly in small amounts and multiple times. Do not feed the baby too full at one time to prevent vomiting, aspiration, aspiration pneumonia, and the risk of suffocation. Babies who are fed milk should supplement calcium and cod liver oil in time.

4. Prevent infection. There should be less traffic in the room where the newborn is located, and relatives with infectious diseases, skin infections or colds should try to avoid contact with the baby. At the same time, we should strengthen the care of the navel, buttocks and oral cavity to ensure the healthy growth of the baby.

The above points are the care for mild hypoxia in newborns. As long as the newborn is properly cared for, mild hypoxia will not cause any sequelae to the baby. Newborns have a relatively weak constitution, so they must be carefully cared for in daily life. Pay attention to the indoor air circulation, do not take your baby to too noisy places, add clothes when it is cold and take off clothes when it is warm, and be sure to create a comfortable environment for your baby.
