Papular urticaria is also known as urticarial lichen and infantile lichen. It is a common allergic skin disease in infants and children, but adults can also suffer from it. Often several people in the same family become ill at the same time. It occurs more frequently in spring and autumn. This disease is named after its symptoms. In fact, this disease is insect bite dermatitis. The clinical features are scattered papules that are slightly firm in nature and have small blisters on the top. There is a spindle-shaped red halo around the edge, and there is pruritus.

Skin lesions are mostly found on the trunk and extensor side of the limbs. Clustered or scattered. The lesions are red, slightly spindle-shaped, ranging in size from mung beans to peanuts. Some may have pseudopodia and often have small blisters on the top. Some of them become large tense blisters with hemispherical protrusions soon after they occur. The contents are clear and there is no red halo around them. It is skin-colored, light red, or light brown. Some rashes are hard, chestnut-sized papules that swell into wheals after scratching. New and old rashes often exist at the same time. Generally, young children have obvious redness and swelling, as well as large blisters, and often have severe itching that affects their sleep. Scratching can cause secondary infection. The rash disappears after 1 to 2 weeks, leaving temporary pigmentation, but new rashes may continue to occur, prolonging the course of the disease. It often relapses and generally has no systemic symptoms. There is no local lymph node enlargement.

Oral antihistamines have a better effect. You can use 1% menthol calamine lotion or 1% menthol cream (children should pay attention to the irritation of the drug) and glucocorticoid cream to relieve itching and inflammation. If there is secondary infection, anti-infection treatment should be given. Chinese medicine can use Jingfang Decoction or Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou Decoction.

Pay attention to personal and environmental hygiene, eliminate fleas, mites, bedbugs and other animals, and be careful to avoid suspicious food.
