Treatment for blisters on the tongue in children

The physical health of children is an issue that parents are very concerned about. Once a child shows any abnormality, parents will definitely be very worried. Therefore, we recommend that parents must take good care of their children in daily life. Sometimes we find that children’s tongues have symptoms of blistering. So what exactly causes blisters on children’s tongues, and how should we treat this symptom?

Treatment is symptomatic. It includes systemic analgesia (such as acetaminophen) and topical anesthetics (such as 0.5% daclonin solution or 2% to 20% benzocaine ointment) applied directly to a cotton swab. When the lesion is large, a 5% viscous solution of lidocaine can be used as a mouthwash for 5 minutes before eating (note: lidocaine should not be swallowed, as it can anesthetize the oropharynx, hypopharynx, and possibly the anus. Children must be monitored for signs of aspiration).

There is no specific treatment for this disease. The main thing is to keep the oral cavity clean and get enough bed rest. When the child has a fever, antipyretic sedatives can be given as appropriate. Antibiotics can also be given appropriately to prevent secondary infection. Give high-calorie, easily digestible foods and large doses of vitamin C and B complex to promote healing. For those with severe pain, you can apply 1% cacao topically or gargle with 1% procaine solution.

Antiviral drug treatment: Antiviral granules, 1 packet each time, 3 times a day; Virulin, 0.2g each time, 3-4 times a day for adults, reduce the dosage for children.

Immunosuppressants: Suitable for patients with multiple relapses and adult patients. Commonly used drugs are levamisole 50 mg, 3 times a day, 3 days in a row every two weeks, stop for 11 days, 2 months as a course of treatment, and pay attention to blood changes during medication.

Topical medication: Bingpeng powder, chloramphenicol glycerol paste, etc. can be applied or sprinkled. If the herpes on the skin around the lips has broken, you can wipe it with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution and then apply 2% gentian violet solution or apply 0.1% "Herpes Net" eye drops topically. The scab should be kept clean and dry and wait for the scab to fall off on its own. In the early stage of erythema, iodine tincture can be applied. Adrenal cortical hormones, whether local or systemic, are contraindicated.

Prevention: Strengthen physical exercise, enhance physical fitness and improve body resistance. Brush your teeth in the morning and evening and pay attention to oral hygiene. Weak children should avoid contact with such patients.

In the above article, we introduced a symptom that children are prone to, that is, blisters on the tongue. Blisters on the tongue in children are mainly caused by oral herpes virus infection. The above article introduces us to the treatment method of blisters on the tongue in children.
