Is it okay for babies to use pacifiers?

Whether it is good for children to use pacifiers is one of the issues that many mothers are very concerned about, because when children reach a certain age, they may still need to use pacifiers. Different children will have different problems when they reach a certain age, which is why children need to be divided into different symptoms. Only by clearly understanding the advantages and disadvantages of a pacifier can you decide whether to use it.

Things given to children need to be understood before they can be used normally, because each thing needs to be used at a certain age. The symptoms that children experience at different stages are also different, which is why we need to use food. So is it okay for children to use pacifiers?

If you only use a pacifier at bedtime and only for the purpose of helping her sleep better, rather than to save you the trouble, she shouldn't become overly dependent on it. This shouldn't affect her tooth development unless you keep her using it into childhood. Because children love to suck on pacifiers within a few months or years old. At this time, they only have baby teeth in their mouths, and permanent teeth usually do not grow out until around 6 years old, at which time they usually stop sucking on pacifiers.

Many children use pacifiers to soothe themselves between the ages of 1 and 3, or even in the preschool stage. Pacifiers can also serve as what some experts call a transition item — something used to relieve stress and help your child adjust to new or challenging situations, like starting daycare or taking a long trip. Although there's no need to stop your baby from using a pacifier after he's one year old, it can be helpful to start weaning him off the pacifier now. For example, if your baby seems to be prone to ear infections, going without a pacifier may provide some relief. Studies have shown that children who do not use pacifiers are 33% less likely to develop otitis media. Try to limit the time your baby uses a pacifier. At the very least, you must use the smallest size for newborn babies, because this type of pacifier is smaller and softer, and is less likely to affect the baby's speech. By the time your child is 18 months old, it is best to completely stop using the pacifier.

As explained above, there are both advantages and disadvantages for children to use pacifiers. It will only be effective when used when it is needed. However, if the pacifier is used beyond the appropriate time period, it will have a negative impact on the child. Therefore, it is very important to master the correct method and time of use.
