4 month old baby milk intake

At every stage of the baby's growth, the mother hopes to do everything perfectly and give the best care to the child. But after all, it was my first time being a mother, so all kinds of problems always arose. My baby learned to roll over earlier than other children. While I was happy, I was also afraid that rolling over too early would be bad for his health. I watched my baby grow to 4 months old amidst all the struggles.

So how much milk is normal for a four-month-old baby to drink? Can a four-month-old baby start to eat complementary foods? What should the complementary foods be based on? What are the principles? I believe many mothers have doubts when their children reach four months old.

A four-month-old baby should be fed with milk, 200 ml each time, five times a day. If you feed the baby 6 times a day, the amount each time should not exceed 200 ml, 180 ml is more appropriate. The total daily milk volume should be kept within 1000 ml. If it exceeds 1000 ml, the baby may easily become obese, and some may even lose appetite for milk. The baby will regulate his food intake on his own, indicating that his digestive ability has been reduced. When your baby's digestive ability is low, do not force him to eat, otherwise he will have diarrhea. As long as the child's weight is increasing normally, it's fine. The daily milk intake for children should be calculated based on body weight: 100-120 ml/kg/day for children under 6 months old and 80-100 ml/kg/day for children over 6 months old. The daily milk intake for a 4-month-old baby should be around 800 ml. You can also add egg yolks to complementary foods, and only give the egg white to the baby after 10 months. When you first start using eggs, take only half or a quarter of the yolk and put it in the rice flour or to make custard. Generally, it is recommended to feed eggs to babies only 2-4 times a week because eggs are not easy to digest. The amount of rice noodles you eat is about half a bowl.

From the above introduction, we can understand that for a 4-month-old baby, feeding about 800 ml of milk a day is normal for growth, but you must not feed more than that. Mothers who have mastered this knowledge can add some complementary foods that are suitable for the baby's digestion as appropriate, but they should avoid feeding the baby egg yolks that are difficult to digest. As long as the baby's weight is within the normal range, there is no need to worry.
