One-year-old baby can't speak

The intelligence of babies over one year old is not fully developed, especially in terms of language. Sometimes, babies cannot speak at the age of one. This is a relatively normal phenomenon. We must create a good environment for the baby. We should let the baby listen to some soothing music at home to stimulate brain development. We can also teach the baby to learn to speak some simple words, which will alleviate this situation. Let’s follow the editor to learn more about it.

There are many similar situations. Parents should first find out the cause and not make random guesses. Generally speaking, excluding pathological reasons, many children do not speak because of family factors. Parents can check whether they have the following behaviors when taking care of their children:

They are very quiet; they have high requirements for what the baby says, and once the baby makes a mistake, the parents are always eager to correct his pronunciation or urge him to correct it; they speak fast, long, and complex words; they like to take care of everything for the baby, and are extremely meticulous in taking care of the baby, often satisfying the baby's needs before the baby sends out a signal of need, or they are used to expressing needs for the baby.

1. Create a good language environment for your baby

Babies learn language through feeling. Parents' expressions, actions and voices can help them understand the meaning. The more language communication there is between parents and their baby, the stronger the baby's language ability will be. It’s an accumulation process for babies to learn language, so even if parents say a lot, they may not be able to respond in time. But parents should not give up. One day, you will find that all your efforts are not in vain.

2. Encourage children to express their wishes in words

When children need help from their parents, parents should not be too diligent in meeting their children's needs, but should also encourage their children to express their wishes in words. Let children feel the power of language and provide them with positive experiences in using language.

3. Stimulate your baby's desire to speak

Play games with your baby, sing nursery rhymes with him or describe to him what happens during the game. When the baby has any requests, the mother can appropriately delay satisfying them according to the baby's age, "forcing" the baby to learn to express his needs in words, and then meet his requests.
