Is it normal for a two year old baby to lose hair?

It is abnormal for a two-year-old baby to lose hair. If a newborn baby loses hair, it is normal metabolism. However, for a two-year-old baby, this kind of hair loss is often related to some diseases and malnutrition. For example, if a child lacks some trace elements, or lacks protein, or has some other diseases, it may cause this symptom.

1. Nipple baldness

The baby's hair turns yellow at the ends and falls out. This is a normal metabolism. After the yellow hair falls out, the hair will gradually stabilize. This condition is commonly known as milk baldness. Mothers don't need to worry too much.

2. Baldness on the back of the head

Babies spend most of their time lying in bed, and the contact between their heads and pillows causes sweating and itching on their heads. Newborns cannot scratch with their hands or express themselves with words, so they can only shake their heads to deal with the itching problem. After frequent friction, the hair on the pillow will be worn off. Now most babies have the problem of baldness on the pillow.

3. Calcium deficiency

Some babies may suffer from calcium deficiency due to rapid growth or insufficient nutrition, which may cause thinning hair, hair loss, or no hair. Mothers will be worried about this. It is recommended to go to the hospital to see a doctor and supplement calcium under the correct guidance of the doctor.

4. Zinc deficiency

Zinc deficiency will cause sparse hair and slow the baby's growth, especially hair growth. Once you find that your baby is zinc deficient, you must supplement him/her with zinc in time. In addition, you can cut your baby's hair short and apply ginger to it. The hair that grows back will be black and thick. Mothers can try it.

5. Lack of protein

Protein has the function of maintaining normal human activities. From this point we can see the important role of protein. For babies, due to their rapid physical development, they have a higher demand for protein. If the baby lacks protein in the body, clinical symptoms such as dry and yellow hair, and swelling of the feet, legs and other parts will appear. Therefore, mothers can let their babies eat more beans, animal liver, meat, eggs and other foods.

From the introduction in this article, we can know that baby's hair loss may be caused by many factors, such as calcium deficiency, zinc deficiency, protein deficiency, etc. If you want to determine what is wrong with your baby that causes hair loss, then you'd better take your baby to the hospital for a check-up and then prescribe the right medicine for treatment.
