Testicular pain in children

Testicular pain in children

The testicles are an important reproductive organ in the male body, so even when boys are young, parents should pay attention to the problem of testicular pain in boys. According to doctors, the little boy had caused quite a few emergency visits due to testicular pain. Once parents face the problem of testicular pain in little boys, they often seem helpless. At this time, it is very necessary for parents to understand the causes of testicular pain in little boys.

What causes testicular pain in children? In daily outpatient and emergency consultations, there are often parents who come to the hospital for treatment because their children have pain in the testicles. Generally speaking, testicular pain is considered a scrotal emergency in medicine. Since it is an emergency, it means the situation is quite urgent. So please parents be vigilant at all times and seek medical attention as soon as possible if you find pain in your testicles!

There are several possible conditions for scrotal emergencies:

Epididymis inflammation. Children with general testicular and epididymal inflammation often have a history of colds or other viral infections in the prodromal period, which affect the testicular and epididymal areas, causing inflammation and pain. In this case, if the inflammation is mild, antibiotics + symptomatic treatment can be used to wait for it to improve;

2. Testicular appendage torsion. The testicular appendage is definitely not the epididymis. Please do not confuse the two. The testicular appendage is a "little tail" that remains on the testicle during the development of the testicle. The size of this "little tail" is not fixed, generally a few millimeters in size, and the number varies from person to person, some have one, some have two or three. The little tail has a large head and a thin root, and is attached to the testicle. If the little tail is twisted due to various reasons, it will cause necrosis and inflammation, causing pain in the testicles.

3. Testicular torsion. The testicle itself is supplied with all its blood by a spermatic cord. The testicle has a large range of movement in the scrotum and is very prone to twisting. Once twisted, it will cause severe pain. Of course, some children have strong endurance and the pain is not obvious. If the testicle is twisted for more than a period of time, irreversible ischemic necrosis may occur, and the testicle can only be removed at that time.

Children with testicular pain must seek medical attention as soon as possible, especially if they are in puberty or are shy. If the treatment is delayed, you will regret it!
