Seven month old baby milk

Seven month old baby milk

A seven-month-old baby is able to eat complementary foods at this time. During this period, the baby drinks a lot of milk, about 800 ml a day. Of course, it also depends on the specific weight of the child and the child’s appetite. In addition to breastfeeding during this period, you should pay attention to the nutrition of complementary foods. You can give the child some vegetable puree and some meat puree, which will help the child develop well.

7 month old baby daily milk intake

How much milk does a 7-month-old baby drink? Although babies of this age can start to add complementary foods, complementary foods can only replace one meal. Breast milk or formula milk is still the main food to provide nutrition for the baby. Breast milk and formula milk contain most of the nutrients needed for the baby's growth and development. Therefore, it is recommended that you give your baby about 800 ml of formula milk every day, depending on your baby's eating and weight gain.

So how often should you breastfeed? You can breastfeed once after breakfast, once after a nap, and once before going to bed. It is best to keep a 3-4 hour interval between formula milk and complementary food. Because if the baby has just eaten complementary food and is not hungry, it will affect the intake of formula milk.

How to judge whether the 7-month-old baby has enough milk

The baby is small and cannot control the amount of food by itself, so mothers need to pay attention to controlling the amount of milk the baby eats when feeding the baby. So how to judge whether the 7-month-old baby has enough milk? The method is very simple, you can refer to the following:

First, look at the number of times the baby pees

If a baby relies solely on breastfeeding and urinates more than 6 times in 24 hours, it is a sign that the milk supply is sufficient and the baby is full. If the baby urinates less than 5 times in 24 hours, it means that the milk supply is insufficient and the baby is not full.

Second, look at the shape of the baby's poop

The stool of a breastfed baby is in the form of buttery soft stool, and they have 2-4 bowel movements a day, which indicates that the milk supply is sufficient and the baby is full. If a breastfed baby has small stools that are green and foamy, this means the mother's milk supply is insufficient and the baby is not full.

Third, look at the baby's weight

Changes in a baby's weight often indicate whether the baby is full or hungry. Babies older than 6 months gain an average of 500 grams of weight per month. If the baby's weight gain does not meet the above standards and the difference is large, after excluding diseases, it mostly means that the milk supply is insufficient and the baby is not full.
