Can childhood asthma be eradicated?

Asthma is a disease that occurs frequently and has a great impact on the patient's body. Asthma can cause serious damage to the patient's bronchial tubes, making breathing difficult. Pediatric asthma is a more difficult disease. Children’s own resistance is relatively poor, and asthma will affect their organs throughout the body. Therefore, if a child suffers from asthma, he or she must be treated as soon as possible. So, can childhood asthma be eradicated?

1. Childhood asthma cannot be cured

Although some children's asthma will only occur when they have a cold or respiratory infection, and the asthma symptoms generally disappear after puberty, there is no cure for asthma. It is a lifelong disease, so it is particularly important to do a good job of prevention in daily life.

2. Prevention of asthma in children

1. Avoid contact with cold air. Because cold air can irritate the respiratory mucosa and cause asthma attacks, when the temperature drops, in addition to letting children wear more clothes and strengthening warming measures, try to avoid exposing children to cold air. If you have to go out, it is best to wear a mask to avoid asthma attacks.

2. Avoid passive smoking. Passive smoking is very harmful and can cause serious damage to the trachea. Therefore, if there is a child with asthma at home, parents should strictly prohibit smoking in front of the child. Children should also not be taken to crowded places, especially smoky indoor places, to avoid secondhand smoke.

3. Avoid contact with allergens. Many factors may induce asthma, such as animal fur, seafood, aspirin and other allergenic drugs, pollen, etc. Therefore, children with asthma should try to avoid contact with animal fur, do not eat shrimp, crab and seafood, avoid taking drugs that are prone to allergic reactions when taking medications, avoid contact with pollen, and do not take children to play in gardens and flowers, so as to avoid asthma attacks due to contact with these allergens.

4. Add negative ions to the indoor air. If there is a child with asthma at home, in addition to paying attention to maintaining moderate temperature and humidity in the room, you should also ventilate frequently to keep the air flowing. You can also install a negative air ion generator to properly replenish negative air ions in the room, which can also effectively reduce the chance of asthma attacks in children.

Although asthma cannot be cured in children, if the above four points can be done well in daily life, it can also effectively prevent asthma attacks in children.
