What is the cause of the child's bad teeth?

Many parents find that they don’t know why their children have problems with their teeth. So, why do children have bad teeth? In fact, this problem is most likely caused by calcium deficiency. As we all know, the main component of teeth is calcium. If a child lacks calcium, then problems such as crooked teeth will occur, so parents should supplement their children with calcium in time.

Calcium deficiency in children

① It is often manifested as excessive sweating, which is unrelated to temperature, especially sweating on the head after falling asleep, which causes the child's head to constantly rub against the pillow. After a long time, a bald circle can be seen behind the skull.

② Being irritable and not interested in the surroundings. Sometimes parents find that their children are not as lively as before.

③ Night terrors, often waking up suddenly at night and crying incessantly.

④ Children over 1 year old show late tooth eruption. Some children still have no teeth at 1 and a half years old. The closure of the anterior fontanelle is delayed and often still does not close after 1 and a half years old.

⑤The forehead is high and protruding, forming a square head.

⑥ Beaded ribs are often caused by a lack of vitamin D and the hyperplasia of costal cartilage. The cartilage of each rib is connected like beads, which often compresses the lungs, making it difficult for children to ventilate and making them prone to bronchitis and pneumonia.

When children are severely deficient in calcium, their muscles and tendons become loose. If the abdominal wall muscles and intestinal wall muscles relax, it may cause gas accumulation in the intestinal cavity and cause the abdomen to swell like a frog's belly. If the tendons of the spine are loose, a hunchback may occur. When children learn to walk after one year old, if they lack calcium, their bones will soften. When they stand, the weight of the body will cause the lower limbs to bend. Some children will have "X" shaped legs, while others will have "O" shaped legs. They are also prone to fractures.

There are various manifestations of calcium deficiency. Parents should learn to judge whether their children are calcium deficient based on the symptoms so that they can provide their children with calcium-rich foods in time when they are calcium deficient, such as fish, shrimp skin, kelp, and pork rib soup. At the same time, they should eat more foods rich in vitamin D, such as pork liver, lamb liver, and beef liver, to promote calcium absorption. Generally speaking, children with mild calcium deficiency can improve their calcium deficiency symptoms after dietary supplementation. If the symptoms are severe, vitamin D and calcium supplements can be taken under the guidance of a doctor.

Infants grow very fast and require relatively more calcium, but the daily dietary calcium intake of Chinese residents often does not meet the recommended intake standards. Therefore, many people suggest that infants should take an additional 1/3 of the recommended amount of calcium supplement starting from 2 weeks after birth, and this should continue until at least 2 years old, otherwise they are likely to suffer from calcium deficiency.
