Can newborns see lights?

The arrival of a baby is the happiest thing for every family. At the same time, there are many things to pay attention to for newborn babies. They cannot eat this or touch that, otherwise it will easily affect the baby's health. Nowadays, many new parents like to play with mobile phones and computers, which are prone to radiation light. If the baby is exposed to it, it may be irritating to the body. This is mainly because the baby is relatively small and the retina is relatively fragile. They are prone to discomfort when exposed to strong light, so newborns should be avoided from exposure to light.

Can a two month old baby see the light?

1. Newborns have a light sensitivity reaction when they are born. They can close their eyes when exposed to strong light. From the second month, they can focus on objects in a coordinated manner. At three months, they can follow moving toys or people. The visual system of a two-month-old baby is in the development stage and is easily affected by external stimuli. It is not recommended for them to look at stimulating light.

2. Although babies at this age are able to look at lights, the light should not be too strong as it will irritate the baby's eyes. Children at this age may be interested in anything new. As long as the light is not allowed to shine directly into the child's eyes and the child is not allowed to look at the light for a long time, there will not be any big problem.

How to judge whether the baby's vision is good or not at two months old

1. When the baby is 2 months old, the phenomenon of visual concentration becomes more and more obvious. He likes to look at moving objects and familiar adults' faces. Can focus on objects in a coordinated manner and distinguish colors, but cannot distinguish depth. The eyeballs can move with objects within a 90-degree range. When objects approach the eyes quickly, protective reflexes such as blinking will appear, and the child will focus on the hand for more than 5 seconds.

Babies aged 2 to 3 months can fix their vision and see objects about 75 cm away, with a visual acuity of about 0.1. The gaze time is significantly prolonged, and the line of sight can follow moving objects. When lying on the back, the eyes will track moving people. Walk around in front of your baby often to attract his attention and observe whether his eyes follow you. If the baby's vision can reach this level, then there is no problem with the baby's vision.

When babies are not sleeping during the day, they will like to look at various things out of curiosity. During this period, parents should be careful not to expose them to strong light. But although babies can look at lights, giving their eyes time to rest at night or when they are sleeping will also help them develop a good habit of going to bed on time.
