What to do if a 12-year-old has lumbar disc herniation

1. There are many medicines for treating lumbar disc herniation, including both Chinese and Western medicines. The most common ones are Yaotongning, Gujin Pills, Yaobitong, Musk Bone Strengthening Paste, Gentongping Granules, etc. They are very effective in relieving pain and alleviating symptoms, but they must be used according to the doctor's orders.

2. In addition to drug treatment, daily physical conditioning is also very necessary for patients. It is best to sleep on a hard bed. At the same time, you should do some waist and back exercises and move your waist muscles after busy work. These small movements are beneficial to treatment.

3. The symptoms of lumbar disc herniation are very obvious, but they are also easily ignored. Common symptoms include low back pain, limb numbness, and toe numbness. After discovering these conditions, you should pay attention to them, go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible, and recover as soon as possible.

Hormonal drugs have the effect of eliminating nerve root edema and relieving pain. It is suitable for patients in the acute stage of lumbar disc herniation and without contraindications to hormone use, and is often used together with dehydrating agents.

The usual dose of prednisone is 15 to 60 mg per day, taken once at 8 am. Or take 2/3 of the dose in the morning and the remaining 1/3 at night.

The usual dose of dexamethasone is 0.75 to 1.5 mg per oral dose, taken once in the morning, or divided into two doses in the morning and afternoon. The intramuscular injection is 5 to 10 mg each time.

Triamcinolone is a local medication with a common dose of 10 to 20 mg each time, used for blocking pain points, joint cavities or epidural spaces of the spinal canal.
