What should I do if my child has poor academic performance?

Every parent hopes that their child will do well in school, which is human nature. But here we would like to remind all parents that only a small number of children have very good academic performance. So if your child's academic performance is not good, do not reprimand the child harshly. Both parents should first be patient and find out the reasons for the poor performance based on the child's situation. Only in this way can they find effective solutions, such as what you can do.

What should I do if my child has poor academic performance?

First, take time to accompany your children to strengthen the parent-child relationship and let your children know that their parents are the ones who care about them the most. Although I am still a class teacher this year, having one less class allows me to take time to think about how to educate my own children. My spouse also tries to squeeze out more time to play with the children. This way, there is more time for communication, and any problems that arise with the child can be discovered and resolved in a timely manner.

Second, cultivate good habits for children. In the past, my son would go straight to the study to play computer games as soon as he got home from school. Almost never does homework. Now the family holds a family meeting every Sunday night to point out each person's shortcomings and strengths. The son has democratic rights and will promptly correct any problems raised by his wife. Under this influence, the son's shortcomings are slowly changing, and he has gotten rid of many of the bad habits that used to give him headaches.

Third, if the above two problems are solved, the question of what to do if children have poor academic performance can be easily solved. Whenever I have time, I will give my son extra lessons to make up for the gaps. Some parents may think that the knowledge they have learned for many years has been thrown away and they have almost forgotten it. How can they make up for it? However, for the sake of children, parents should sacrifice some of their own entertainment time to teach their children all the subjects they need to learn. This way, when you give them extra lessons, their children will admire you and the effect will be better.

Fourth, if family conditions permit, you can consider buying some learning tools for your child, such as the student computers that currently include all student subjects and include learning tools such as learning machines and reading machines. My son is also using it now, and he is very interested in it and often says it is much better than what his teacher taught him. Click on the user name, it is in the collection record, or in the references below. However, learning tutoring tools cannot replace teachers and parents, and children must use them reasonably. Parents should not think that everything will be fine after buying a student computer. They should guide their children to use it well.
