How to care for a baby with a low fever

It is common for babies to have a fever, which is mainly caused by a cold or respiratory tract infection. If a high fever occurs, you should seek medical attention in time or take some antipyretic drugs for treatment. If it is a low fever, physical fever reduction methods are generally chosen. The following introduces how to deal with a low fever in babies:

1. Let your baby drink more boiled water. If the baby refuses to drink, you can add some vegetable juice or fruit juice, etc. Any flavored food should be fed warm.

2. Take off the baby's clothes appropriately and leave them open to allow the baby's skin to cool down naturally.

3. Wipe the body with warm water, the water temperature should be 32-34oC, use a warm towel to wipe the baby's hands, feet, neck, armpits, groin and other places, wipe every ten minutes.

4. Apply a wet towel on the baby's forehead and change it every 2 to 3 minutes. However, the baby may not like it and move around.

5. Warm water bath. The water temperature is similar to that of normal bath. Some say it is 3 to 4 degrees Celsius lower than the baby's body temperature. I don't know how it feels.

6. Let your baby sleep with a cool water pillow to lower the temperature of the head.
