35-month-old baby development indicators

35-month-old baby development indicators

The characteristics of a child's physical development are different at each age stage. It is most difficult to judge when the child is young. As the child grows older, the child's condition becomes more intuitive. A 35-month-old baby is almost three years old. Although parents can have a comprehensive understanding of the child's condition, in order to ensure normality, they need to compare it with indicators. So, what are the developmental indicators of a 35-month-old baby? Let’s take a look below.

Physical appearance and growth

The baby's head circumference has not changed much. There is no obvious change either in appearance or measurement. The baby's head circumference has entered a slow growth period. Most babies' anterior fontanelles are closed by the age of 3.

Now the baby's basic movements are very agile. He (she) does not need to concentrate too much energy on walking, standing, running or jumping. When walking, he (she) swings his arms like an adult and can jump over a cardboard box 10 to 15 cm high. Because the baby has very strong motor skills and exercises a lot, the baby's muscles become very strong and elastic.

Now the baby has good balance ability. He (she) is willing to learn how to walk on tiptoe and try to stay still. The baby can stand on one foot for a short time to maintain balance. You can hold your baby's hand and try to walk on a balance beam 25 cm above the ground. After the child is steady, let the child walk from one end to the other with an adult supervising.

Physical Skill Development

Strengthen the cultivation of children's ability to take care of themselves, and avoid overprotection and taking over for them. Encourage children to put on and take off their clothes, shoes and socks by themselves and make their beds. The baby can already put on his shirt by himself, can use both hands to button it, and can distinguish left from right. When it’s time to eat, the baby can already set the table. He (she) can help wipe the table clean and put out bowls and chopsticks for several people.

Some babies are now starting to learn to use scissors and cut along the lines. They can cut small holes in the paper or cut it into strips. Fold the paper in half to form a triangle. The baby can also split steamed buns or bread into two. She can dress and undress dolls and likes to play house games. and be able to fiddle with some large buttons, snaps and zippers.

Language development

A 3-year-old child has basically mastered the spoken expression of his or her mother tongue. The development of young children's language expression ability is gradual. Before the age of 3, a baby's language expression is basically in the form of dialogue, either answering parents' questions or asking questions to their parents and getting answers. His or her own creative language monologues are very rare. As children's independence develops and their ability to understand the world improves, the need to express their own wishes independently begins to emerge and becomes increasingly stronger, and their ability to monologue also continues to improve.
