Newborn baby's nasal breathing problem

Newborn baby's nasal breathing problem

For adults, a blocked nose is generally not a cause for panic. Colds, rhinitis or getting angry are the most common causes, and the problem can be alleviated by taking appropriate measures to solve the problem. However, parents are very worried about the problem of newborn babies having difficulty breathing through their noses. After all, newborn babies have poor body resistance and the problem must be solved as soon as possible. Their body's ability to withstand stress cannot be compared with that of adults.

Parents should carefully check whether the baby's breathing difficulties are caused by a cold. If it is caused by a cold, the following methods can be used to improve it:

Use a warm towel, remember not to make it too hot, and then apply effective hot compresses on both sides of the baby's nose. Do this every two hours during the day, and the effect is very good.

Babies can also get rhinitis, so if parents cannot determine the cause of their baby's breathing difficulties, they should see a doctor to see if the breathing difficulties are caused by nasal congestion due to rhinitis.

Use the medicine prescribed by the doctor reasonably. Remember, if the symptoms improve, stop taking the medicine immediately, because these nasal clearing medicines used by children also have toxic side effects. Of course, when using it, be sure to clean the baby's nasal secretions.

Parents should carefully check whether there is a large amount of nasal mucus in the baby's nasal cavity. If it is clumped and dry, it will block the baby's nasal cavity, and of course the baby will have difficulty breathing.

If the nasal mucus is sticky, you can use a nasal aspirator. If the mucus is clumped together, you need to dip a cotton swab in water and gently place it into the baby's nasal cavity. After the clumped mucus is softened, you can pull it out.

Many babies put things into their noses when playing, such as beads or peanuts. At this time, if the baby has difficulty breathing, parents must check carefully to see if there is anything else stuck inside.

It is best for parents not to use their own methods to help the baby get things out. It is also possible that when you are digging, the foreign objects may go deeper into the nose. Therefore, the best way is to go to the hospital and let the doctor help you take out the foreign objects.

Many babies have symptoms of nasal allergies. Once an allergic environment appears, the baby's breathing becomes rapid. Therefore, parents should always pay attention to whether their baby has any items or environment that may cause nasal allergies.

In this case, you must pay attention to household hygiene, avoid dust, and do not take your baby to places that are prone to allergies, such as pollen or catkins.
