Why is there blood in the child's poop?

In fact, parents can understand their children's health conditions by observing their posture when they are defecating. If a child's stool contains blood, attention should be paid to whether it is caused by dry stool or constipation. Usually, if the stool is dry, defecation will be more difficult, and sometimes it will scratch the surrounding mucous membrane and cause bleeding, so parents should pay attention to their children's diet.

1. Stool will scratch the mucous membrane around the anus and cause bleeding. Because of the pain during defecation, babies are afraid to defecate again, causing the feces to stay in the intestines for too long, fully absorbing water, making the feces drier and defecation more difficult, thus forming a vicious circle. Infant constipation should be taken seriously. You should eat more vegetables and fruits rich in fiber and drink more water. Increasing outdoor activities and exercising more can also promote intestinal peristalsis and make bowel movements smooth.

2. Children usually have difficulty with defecation, such as dry and hard stools, crying and struggling during defecation, and reduced frequency of bowel movements. In addition to letting children eat more fruits and vegetables to promote large intestine motility and accelerate defecation, parents can also use self-medication for children's functional constipation.

Suppositories can be used for short-term constipation in children, but they should not be used for a long time. Otherwise, the drug may damage the intestinal mucosa and intestinal nerves, or cause electrolyte abnormalities, or even cause diarrhea. Parents should also not use laxatives (fruit laxatives, etc.) to treat constipation in children to prevent intestinal dysfunction. Because Chinese medicine tastes bitter, most infants and young children will not cooperate with it. Diet therapy or Chinese patent medicine is a simple and easy way to self-treat children's constipation.

3. Children's stools are dry and hard like sheep dung, and defecation is difficult, which may be accompanied by abdominal distension and pain, bad breath, and hot hands and feet. This type of constipation is temporary and more common. It is mostly caused by food stagnation, internal heat, or loss of body fluids after a febrile illness.

Treatment: Clear away heat and promote bowel movements.

4. Use appropriate amount of fresh spinach or cabbage to make soup. Mash the red radish into a paste to extract the juice (or use a juicer to extract the juice), add appropriate amount of sugar, boil for 2 to 3 minutes, and drink while warm. Cook 100 grams of rice into porridge. Add 30 grams of pine nuts before it is cooked. Cook until the porridge is done and add sugar before eating.
