Introduction to the recipes of children's complementary food

Many mothers know that when the baby is 6 months old, you can start adding complementary foods. Of course, when you first start adding complementary foods to the baby, you start with rice noodles. Later, in the process of adding complementary foods to the baby, you also add different foods according to the different ages of the baby. Adding different foods according to the characteristics of different stages will also help the baby's growth.

Why add complementary food

1. After 6 months of breastfeeding, the mother's milk secretion will gradually decrease, and the baby's appetite will also begin to increase. At this time, drinking breast milk alone is not enough to provide the baby with one day's nutrition.

2. Babies aged 6-12 months are in the critical period of developing chewing and swallowing. For babies, the ability to chew and swallow needs to be learned. If they are not practiced, they will refuse to try after the age of 1. Even if the baby is willing to eat, sometimes he will spit it out immediately, causing feeding difficulties.

3. Complementary foods can provide more diverse and complete nutrients, including calories, iron, vitamins, and even trace elements such as zinc and copper. Giving different types of complementary foods gradually can help your baby get used to a variety of flavors and avoid picky eating in the future.

4. When the baby is 4-6 months old, gastrointestinal amylase and various digestive enzymes have begun to be secreted, indicating that the digestion and absorption functions have gradually matured. At this time, you can start practicing eating complementary foods to increase gastrointestinal function. At the same time, the baby must have enough nutrition to thrive.

Four month old baby food

4-6 months is the stage when babies first start to get in touch with complementary foods. It is best to start with light-flavored foods. The type and hardness of the food should be changed depending on the baby's development. Rice soup, which is not likely to cause allergies in babies, is a more suitable staple food for babies to try as their first complementary food.

When the baby is 7-9 months old, you can start adding protein-containing foods, such as egg yolks, fish, lean meat, tofu, etc. The form of food can gradually change from soup or paste to puree or solid. Parents can also increase the types of foods made from grains and root vegetables, such as porridge, noodles, toast, bread, steamed buns, etc. Vegetables and fruits with coarse fiber and foods that are too greasy, spicy, or have too much tendons are still not suitable for feeding babies.

Babies aged 10-12 months can try whole eggs and dry rice. In the later stage of adding complementary foods, mothers can let the baby start to learn to eat by themselves, so it is the homework of parents to help the baby choose spoons, bowls, plates and other tableware that are not easy to break, lightweight and easy to use.

Vegetable recipes for one-year-old babies

At this time, the baby's diet is getting closer to that of adults. He/she no longer eats soft and mushy food as before. He/she can enjoy more delicious food. Because the amount and types of food that babies can eat have greatly increased, including soft rice, bread, noodles, macaroni, potatoes and so on. For babies, fresh fruits and vegetables can not only provide the necessary nutrients, but also enrich the variety and color of baby's complementary food.

Babies can eat more red, yellow and green vegetables and fruits. Complementary foods of different flavors and colors can attract the baby's interest visually and auditorily, and whet the baby's appetite. You can also make your baby’s favorite fruits and vegetables, such as apple strips, potato strips, pumpkin strips, cucumber strips, etc. into finger-sized foods and put them on tableware to attract your baby to eat them by himself.
