What are the dangers of kissing your baby?

As parents, the thing they love most is their baby. The baby's face is round, and parents always love it enough and like to kiss the baby. At this time, as a parent, you should also understand some precautions when kissing the baby. After all, the baby's skin is very delicate. If you kiss too hard, it will often cause skin damage to the baby. In addition, if parents do not pay attention to personal hygiene, it will also cause allergic reactions on the baby's skin.

When kissing your baby, you should also pay attention to the following points :

1. After coming back from outside, you must wash your hands and change clothes before kissing your baby.

2. Don't kiss mouth to mouth. The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that any form of saliva sharing should be avoided with infants and young children.

3. Don’t kiss your baby’s hands to avoid the baby putting his hands into his mouth and eating the germs.

4. Do not allow any saliva to remain on the baby's cheeks or skin.

Although kissing your baby may not necessarily lead to serious illness, the same thing applies: no matter how small the probability is, once it happens to your baby, it is 100%.

So, if we meet one of the above mentioned situations, then don't kiss the baby. In addition to kissing, there are many other ways to express love, such as rubbing the baby's forehead and nose, holding hands and hugging the baby, and spending more time with the baby.

Especially in the following situations, you can't just come up and kiss !

1. When adults suffer from oral diseases

If an adult is suffering from periodontal disease, caries, gingivitis, etc., there is no room for negotiation and they must not kiss the baby. Germs in adults' mouths can easily enter the baby's mouth through lip contact and saliva, causing disease.

2. When adults suffer from skin diseases

If an adult is suffering from a skin disease, it is not recommended to kiss the baby no matter where the symptoms appear on the body. Because saliva is likely to contain infectious agents, which can transmit the disease to the baby.

3. When adults have a cold

Cold viruses often attack the nasopharyngeal and upper respiratory tract mucosa of the human body and can be easily spread through kissing. Babies' resistance is much weaker than that of adults, and they may develop various complications after catching a cold, such as bronchitis, otitis media, pneumonia, etc.

4. When adults have diarrhea

When adults have diarrhea, their gastrointestinal tract usually carries a lot of bacteria or viruses, and these pathogenic bacteria can be easily spread through saliva. For example, rotavirus is a typical one. In most cases, adults carrying rotavirus do not have any symptoms, but after transmitting it to babies, it will cause symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and fever in babies.

5. After adults smoke

Smoking can cause a variety of harmful substances to remain in the adult's mouth, such as nicotine, tar, acrolein, etc. Kissing a baby in this situation can easily cause the baby to suffer from respiratory diseases such as asthma.

6. After adults put on makeup

Some mothers like to wear makeup on a daily basis, but some ingredients in cosmetics may not be suitable for babies to come into contact with, such as lead and mercury. Kissing will cause these substances to adhere to the baby's skin and even enter the baby's body, causing contact dermatitis, allergies, etc.
