What foods are good for children who wet the bed?

The problem of children's bedwetting troubles many parents. Sometimes it is caused by improper diet before going to bed, such as always drinking water, eating fruits, drinking yogurt after dinner and before going to bed, etc. These can easily lead to increased nocturia. Therefore, it is recommended that parents should pay attention to controlling their baby's diet before going to bed, try to drink less water, remember to wake them up at night, and foods such as milk and chocolate can easily cause bedwetting in babies.

1. Milk, chocolate, tangerine and orange . After an in-depth study of the causes of nocturnal enuresis in children, American scholars proposed that excessive intake of milk, chocolate and citrus fruits in the diet is the main cause of nocturnal enuresis in children, with 60% of the enuresis caused by excessive milk. As long as you stop eating the above foods, the enuresis phenomenon will disappear almost immediately. The main reason is that these foods can produce allergic reactions in children, causing the bladder wall to swell, reducing capacity, and promoting smooth muscle to become rough, causing spasms. At the same time, this abnormal reaction can cause children to sleep too deeply and be unable to wake up when they need to urinate, leading to enuresis.

2. Spicy and irritating food . Children's nervous system is immature and easily excited. If they eat this kind of food, it may cause dysfunction of the cerebral cortex and make them prone to enuresis. Therefore, spicy and irritating foods should be avoided in the diet.

3. Limit water intake during the day . For children with enuresis, do not excessively restrict their water intake during the day. Require the children to retain urine at will at least once a day until they feel a slight sense of fullness and discomfort, in order to exercise their bladder function.

4. Drink more water after dinner . After 4 p.m., urge children to control their water intake, avoid liquid meals, and drink as little water as possible at dinner to avoid increasing the burden on the kidneys and reducing nighttime urination.

5. Too much salt, sugar and raw and cold food . Too much salt and too much sugar can cause polydipsia and polyuria. Raw and cold food can weaken the spleen and stomach functions and is not good for the kidneys, so it should be avoided.
