What should I do if my child has skin allergies?

Skin allergies in children are a problem that cannot be ignored. Because their resistance is relatively weak, there are many causes of allergies. For example, diet and air environment in daily life may be allergens that cause allergies in children. Children will inevitably scratch their skin when they have skin allergies. If the scratching is severe, it may cause other skin diseases and affect the child's physical and mental health. Here are some ways to deal with allergies in children.

Drug treatment

1. It is not recommended for babies under 3 months old to take oral medications, but zinc oxide ointment can be applied externally.

2. Babies over 3 months old can take loratadine oral solution or chlorpheniramine. Both drugs are anti-inflammatory drugs. You can only take one of them alone. Please consult a doctor if you want to take both drugs at the same time. Zinc oxide ointment can be applied externally at the same time.

Recommendation: Drink plenty of water and get enough rest during this period. If you are breastfeeding, the mother should avoid eating spicy and irritating foods.

Avoid allergens by wearing

1. Skin allergies may be related to clothing materials and detergents. When buying clothes for your baby, make sure to buy cotton clothes, as cotton is less irritating and has strong sweat-absorbing ability. After purchasing new clothes, they need to be soaked in salt water for more than half an hour to release the printing and dyeing chemicals, and then washed before wearing them for the baby.

2. Choose baby laundry detergent with less "surfactant" content, and the laundry detergent you choose should not contain phosphorus, bleach and other ingredients.

Avoid allergens from food

1. Baby's tableware, bottles, and nipples should be disinfected to avoid bacterial invasion.

2. Improve immunity, increase the nutrients necessary for the human body and improve the baby's immunity. You can give your baby vitamin AD drops to prevent vitamin A and D deficiency.

3. Babies with allergies should try to avoid eating marine fish, shrimps, river crabs and other foods that contain large amounts of foreign proteins.

Avoid allergens from the environment

1. The environment where the baby lives should be kept clean to avoid the growth of bacteria.

2. Baby's bath gel and soap should not be too irritating. Choose bath products with pure and mild formulas.

3. Babies with allergies should stay away from flowers when going out, have less contact with people and small animals, and avoid newly renovated houses. Paint and coatings are also one of the causes of baby's skin allergies.
