What should I do if my baby has a runny nose and cough? Parents need to understand these methods

Babies have relatively low resistance and are prone to runny nose and cough, so every parent must know some simple ways to solve this problem, such as using children's cold granules, feeding babies honey water, etc.

1. Take children's cold granules.

When the seasons change and the weather gets cold, it is very common for babies to have symptoms such as colds and coughs. If the situation is not very serious, you can give your baby pediatric cold granules for effective treatment. At the same time, you should pay attention to keeping your child warm and replenishing enough water.

2. Blow your baby’s nose in time.

The baby has a runny nose due to a cold but cannot blow his nose by himself. If the nose is not blown away in time, it may not be conducive to the excretion of toxins in the body and will hinder the baby's breathing. This requires parents to clean the baby's nose in time, so that breathing is unobstructed and toxins in the body are discharged in time, which is more helpful for treating the baby's cold, cough and runny nose.

3. Feed your baby an appropriate amount of honey water.

Mixing an appropriate amount of honey with boiling water and giving it to your baby to drink can not only relieve cough, but also help improve your baby's sleep. Studies have shown that honey water is sometimes more effective in relieving coughs than honey water, but this method is not suitable for babies under 1 year old.

4. Use brown sugar, ginger and scallion water to treat baby’s cold and cough.

Cut a few slices of ginger, take 2 green onions, add appropriate amount of brown sugar, and boil with water. Boil about half a bowl of water, let the baby drink it while it is hot and then go to sleep. If the baby sweats, wipe off the sweat immediately. Mild symptoms can be cured by taking it once or twice. If the symptoms are severe, you can apply garlic paste the size of a soybean on the soles of your feet.

5. Give your baby a steam bath.

Turn on the hot water in the bathroom and fill the space with steam. Let your baby stay in this situation for 10 minutes, or give your baby a hot bath, which can effectively relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion and runny nose. But remember to add clothes to keep your baby warm after taking a bath.
