German researcher Campbell believes that the sleep cycle is controlled by the brain and undergoes certain changes with age; he also found that naps are part of the natural sleep cycle. A sleep research expert at the University of Florida said that napping has gradually evolved into a way for humans to protect themselves. Initially, lunch break may have been just a way for people to avoid the scorching sun at noon, but later it gradually became a habit; at that time, humans lived in warm areas, and outdoor labor was the most basic condition for people to survive. Therefore, lunch breaks have become a way for people to avoid being hit by heat waves.

Although a few people stop taking a lunch break at a certain point in time, the vast majority of them are forced to give up this "enjoyment"; if giving up the lunch break is only temporary, they will develop the habit of taking a lunch break again once the conditions permit. What should be encouraged is to arrange your time reasonably and not leave yourself no time for a lunch break.

In recent years, sleep experts from the German Institute of Psychiatry have discovered that the human body also needs sleep during the day in addition to at night. There are three sleep peaks at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., especially the peak at 1 p.m. That is to say, in addition to sleeping at night, people have a sleep rhythm during the day with an interval of 4 hours. Experts believe that people's daytime sleep rhythm is often masked by busy work, study and tense emotions, or eliminated by drinks such as alcohol and tea that have a stimulating effect on the nerves. Therefore, some people do not feel sleepy during the day. However, once such external stimuli decrease, the body's daytime sleep rhythm will emerge, and people will feel sleepy and naturally want to rest at noon. If external stimulation disappears completely, people's sleep value will be further reduced, and the two sleep rhythms in the morning and afternoon will naturally appear. This is why people take a lunch break.

It is very good for children to take a nap. It is recommended that children who do not have the habit of taking a healthy nap should improve their nap time in time, let them develop good sleeping habits, and complete the nap on time every day. Children's naps can expand their brains, make their thinking better, and make them smarter. However, children should not take a nap for too long, as this may cause them to not sleep at night.
