What to do if children have high uric acid

What to do if children have high uric acid

We often see high uric acid in middle-aged and elderly people, but if such a disease occurs in children, we will be very surprised. The probability of children suffering from high uric acid is very low, so many people in life do not pay attention to this symptom of children, and thus do not know that children are also prone to high uric acid. The symptoms of high uric acid in children are the same as those in adults, so what should children do if they have high uric acid?

There are three more and three less in diet:

lDrink more water and less soup. People with high blood uric acid and gout patients should drink more boiled water and less meat broth, fish soup, chicken soup, hot pot soup, etc. The osmotic pressure of boiled water is most conducive to dissolving various harmful substances in the body. Drinking more boiled water can dilute uric acid, accelerate excretion, and lower uric acid levels. The soup contains a large amount of purine, which not only fails to dilute uric acid but instead causes an increase in uric acid.

2 Eat more alkaline foods and less acidic foods. Gout patients have purine metabolism disorders and abnormal uric acid. If they eat too much acidic food, it will aggravate the condition and be detrimental to recovery. Eating more alkaline foods can help replenish potassium, sodium, and chloride ions and maintain acid-base balance.

3 Eat more vegetables and less rice. Eating more vegetables can help reduce purine intake, increase vitamin C and increase fiber. Eating less helps control calorie intake, limit weight, and lose weight and reduce fat.

In fact, high uric acid levels in children are the same as those in adults, due to the decline in the body's metabolic function, which leads to the inability to excrete uric acid, causing high uric acid levels.

1. Meat: Do not eat stewed meat, braised meat, bone marrow, or broth. You can eat fish and chicken that contain less purine, but do not eat seafood.

2.Animal offal cannot be eaten.

3. Eat more fruits.

4. Vegetables except spinach, beans and mushrooms cannot be eaten, but all other vegetables can be eaten.

5. Be sure to drink plenty of water. Children may not drink water consciously, so parents must supervise them and make sure they drink a certain amount of water every day.

6. You can eat some eggs and milk to supplement the nutrients needed by the body.

7. Avoid eating large amounts of high-purine foods, such as peanuts, beef, pork, seafood, such as animal offal, sardines, tuna, beans and fermented foods; fish, shrimp, fresh meat, peas, spinach, wine, etc.! Avoid eating stewed or braised meat.

8. The amount of protein in the daily diet should be controlled at about 1 gram per kilogram of body weight. Animal offal such as heart, liver, intestines, kidney, brain, broth, as well as seafood such as sardines, shrimp and shellfish should be eaten less.

9. There is no limit on the amount of vegetables, fruits and milk in the diet, but eat less salt, which should be limited to 2 grams to 5 grams per day. 10. The daily diet structure should be mainly composed of carbohydrates, which can promote the excretion of uric acid. You can choose refined white rice, enriched flour, corn, steamed bread, noodles, etc.

11. Avoid inducing factors such as excessive fatigue, tension, cold, joint injuries, etc.;

12. It is not advisable to use drugs that inhibit the excretion of uric acid.

13. Eat less fat, because fat can reduce the excretion of uric acid.

The above are various treatments for children with high uric acid. However, high uric acid is a very stubborn disease to treat. Although the disease does not cause much harm to the child’s body, if the treatment is not timely and the treatment is not cooperative, the disease will worsen. High uric acid has many hazards, so if we want to avoid various sequelae caused by the disease, we must treat the child quickly.
