Can a one week old baby eat yogurt?

As children continue to grow, they need to consume other foods to supplement nutrition, improve physical fitness, immunity and resistance. Whether children can drink yogurt is a problem that troubles many parents. At what age is yogurt suitable for children to drink? Can a one week old baby eat yogurt? Let us learn together whether one-week-old children can eat yogurt.

Yogurt is a milk product made from fresh milk. After it is pasteurized, beneficial bacteria (fermentation agent) is added to the milk. After fermentation, the milk is cooled and bottled. There are four reasons to let your baby drink yogurt: 1. Yogurt has high nutrient and energy density. A cup of yogurt (150 ml) can provide infants and young children with 30% of energy and calcium and about 10% of protein. Yogurt is very similar to human milk and is easy to digest, making it especially suitable for infants and young children with immature digestive systems. 2. Yogurt contains galactose, which is a component of brain lipids in the brain and nervous system, and is closely related to the rapid growth of the baby's brain after birth. 3. Diarrhea is a common disease among infants and young children in summer. Yogurt contains sufficient lactic acid bacteria, which can effectively inhibit the production of harmful bacteria and enhance immunity, thus preventing diarrhea or shortening the duration of chronic diarrhea. 4. Yogurt is a semi-solid food. Drinking yogurt gives a stronger sense of fullness than milk and is suitable for guiding babies to transition from liquid food to solid food.

Children can eat yogurt, but they should consume it in moderation and control the amount they drink every day. Also, when choosing yogurt for children, choose yogurt with regular labels and pay attention to the shelf life of the yogurt. It is best for parents to try it first before letting their children drink it. Distinguish between yogurt and yogurt drinks, and finally choose a yogurt that is suitable for your baby's growth.
