What to eat when baby has night sweats

Night sweats are very common in children. There are many children who visit hospitals for treatment, and most of the patients account for about 70%. They also suffer from anemia, rickets, and tuberculosis to varying degrees. So night sweats are not necessarily caused by physical reasons, but may also be related to diseases. Most of the time, no special problems can be found in the examination, and night sweats are always mistaken for physiological sweating. What should we do in this case? What should patients eat to regulate their condition?

It is a very common phenomenon for babies to sweat while sleeping or when they move a little. Among the children who visit the hospital, about 70% have night sweats and excessive sweating, while only a very small number of them have excessive sweating due to diseases such as rickets, tuberculosis, and mild anemia. Most babies cannot be diagnosed with any special diseases, and in most cases doctors answer that it is physiological sweating in children and no treatment is required.

Although the baby's growth and development are normal and the above-mentioned diseases have been ruled out and no treatment is needed, excessive sweating is always worrying. According to my observation, in addition to excessive sweating caused by wearing too many clothes or covering yourself with too many blankets, babies also have a direct relationship with their diet.

Today's parents no longer worry about their babies' malnutrition, but rather about overnutrition. Many babies eat high-calorie fish and shrimp almost every day. Babies love to eat fresh and tender fish and shrimp, and parents also believe that fish and shrimp are more nutritious than meat. Another point is that for babies whose teeth have not yet fully grown, fish and shrimp are easier to chew, while meat and various vegetables are difficult to chew and are easy to choke in the process of swallowing. After choking a few times, the baby will no longer be willing to eat.

There is an old saying among the people: "Fish causes fire, meat causes phlegm, vegetables and tofu keep you safe." If you eat too much fish and shrimp, your baby will have severe internal heat and may experience the following symptoms:

1. Particularly prone to sweating, often sweating when doing activities during the day, and sweating so much at night that the clothes or quilts are wet.

2. Due to the heavy internal heat and high energy, the baby is energetic and plays all day long without feeling tired.

3. Some babies lose too much body fluid due to long-term and heavy sweating, which manifests as redness and dryness of the lips and tongue, heat in the palms and soles of the feet, dry mouth, dry and granular stools, and even anal fissures.

4. Irritable temper, difficulty concentrating, and poor self-control.

5. Due to excessive sweating, loss of body fluids and reduced water content, some babies have darker skin.

6. Due to excessive internal heat, babies are prone to getting angry. Once a baby catches a cold, he or she is prone to high fever and is often accompanied by tonsillitis.

7. The nose bleeds easily.

1. Babies with weak spleen and stomach cannot drink cold drinks and should try to eat less or no fruit. Most fruits are cold and should be avoided as much as possible in winter.

2. For babies who are dark, thin and have poor appetite, parents can go to a Chinese medicine store to buy one or two grams of chicken gizzard lining and grind it into powder in a grinder. Take a small spoonful of chicken gizzard lining, add half a spoonful of brown sugar and put it in a bowl, add a small amount of boiling water, and give it to your baby half an hour before meals, 1 to 2 times a day.

3. Loach soup: Take three or four loaches, wash them and fry them in a frying pan until they turn slightly yellow. Then add water and a small amount of green onion and salt. The baby eats loach and drinks soup 2 to 3 times a week. Loach can replenish qi deficiency, warm the spleen and stomach, and stop night sweats. It is suitable for babies with weak bodies, cold spleen and stomach, malnutrition, and night sweats due to physical weakness. It helps their growth and development.

4. Eat more yam: Yam can strengthen the spleen and replenish the deficiency, it is light and nourishing, and is suitable for babies with excessive sweating. Parents can make yam porridge, yam soup or steamed yam for their babies.
