What should I do if my two-month-old baby refuses to eat at night?

Generally, babies will not like to breastfeed when they are two months old, especially at night. This has become a big problem for many mothers. They don’t know how to solve the problem of babies not liking to breastfeed at night. In fact, this problem is very easy to solve. What should I do if my two-month-old baby doesn’t want to drink milk at night? Let’s take a look at it together. I hope that everyone can gain something from my introduction.

1. If conditions permit, it is best for only the mother and baby to be in the room when breastfeeding. In families where there are many people playing with the baby, other people can temporarily avoid the baby while the baby is breastfeeding.

2. The lighting in the feeding environment can be dim, and it is best if there is no interference from noisy sounds.

3. For some super sensitive babies, you can temporarily unplug the telephone line and turn off the mobile phone while feeding.

4. Adjust the baby's feeding mood in time: Do not let the baby do strenuous exercise for a period of time before feeding. For babies who are fed according to a feeding schedule, it is best to let the baby calm down slowly half an hour before each feeding, so that the baby can be more focused when it is time to feed.

5. Choose a feeding position that makes the baby comfortable but restricts the baby's hands and feet to a certain extent: a comfortable yet restricted position can make the baby feel safe.

6. The mother should be relaxed. If the mother is nervous or anxious, the baby will be sensitive to it and will also feel nervous, which will affect breastfeeding.

From one month to two months after the baby is born: the amount of milk should be gradually increased according to the weight. The baby should be fed 6-7 times a day, with an interval of 3.5-4 hours between each feeding. Each feeding should be about 80-120 ml, and the maximum amount can be 150 ml.

Two to three months: Feed 5-6 times a day, once every four hours, with 150-200 ml of milk each time.

Generally speaking, the stomach capacity of a newborn baby is very small (30-35ml for a newborn, about 100ml for 3 months, 200ml for 6 months, and 300-500ml for 1 year old), and the amount of gastric juice secretion is small. The gastric emptying time varies with the type and nature of food. For breastfeeding, the gastric emptying time is 2-3 hours, for milk feeding it is 3-4 hours, and for water it is 1-2 hours.

In the first few days after the baby is born, the amount of milk can be calculated based on the baby's weight per kilogram, and 100-200 ml should be given per day. Because milk is not easy to digest, it needs to be diluted with water. The ratio can be 4:1, 3:1, 3:2, 2:1, or 1:1. If two parts of milk are mixed with one part of water, it will be 300 (360) ml of milk + 150 (160) ml of water, with a total of 450-480 ml. Divide it into 7-8 times, with each serving being 60-70 ml. Add 5% sugar to the milk, and increase this proportion at five and six months. From 15 days to one month old, if the baby's digestion is normal, he can eat pure milk, nearly 100-150 ml per kilogram of body weight, and about 60-100 ml per meal.

When feeding your baby, you should also be careful not to feed too much at one time. If you feed too much, the baby's stomach will be uncomfortable, so you must pay attention. You can also let your baby drink some milk powder at ordinary times. You can feed your baby both milk powder and breast milk, but don’t feed too much milk powder. Try to feed your baby mainly with breast milk.
