Six-month-old baby occasionally shivers

For many parents, the arrival of a baby at home is both exciting and stressful. Because many parents are becoming parents for the first time, they will be very nervous when they find some abnormal behavior in their baby, fearing that some disease may cause the baby to feel unwell. So, what is the reason why a six-month-old baby shivers occasionally? In fact, it is likely a neurological problem.

The nervous system of infants and young children is not fully developed, and when they encounter stimulation, they will have increased muscle tension and involuntary shaking. You can observe whether the child has other abnormal manifestations, such as whether the shaking is accompanied by abnormal eye position. If it is just a rapid shaking, which only happens for a moment, the baby's other conditions are good and it is a normal manifestation in the baby's development process. If the tremor becomes worse, the attacks become frequent, or are accompanied by glazed eyes and a tilted neck, you should go to the pediatric neurology department of the hospital for treatment.

Due to the imperfect development of the nervous system, many babies will experience tremors, so mothers don’t need to worry too much. It is recommended to observe the baby's condition more, such as urination, defecation, body temperature, feeding, and the baby's spirit after waking up. If these are normal, don't worry. However, if the baby shivers frequently, mothers should consider that it is vitamin D deficiency and low calcium that cause increased nerve excitability, which causes the baby to shiver more frequently. This requires further examination in the hospital.

Parents must pay attention to the fact that this symptom cannot be ruled out as a symptom of calcium deficiency. When there are symptoms such as frequent fatigue, weakness, cramps, back pain, allergies, and colds, calcium deficiency should be suspected. Parents must actively supplement calcium for their children. They can eat more alternative foods, such as oysters, seaweed, cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, radish, kale, and pakchoy.
