Most babies will develop roseola after birth due to low immunity. Because this type of skin disease usually has no symptoms, it is called an emergency. After discovering that their babies have roseola, many parents not only found some small rashes on the surface of the body, but also swollen lymph nodes behind the ears. Is it normal for the lymph nodes behind the ears to swell after roseola infantum occurs? What is the cause of the hard lump behind the ear in infants with roseola? For children with roseola, parents may feel lumps the size of soybeans or peanuts behind their children's ears. These are lymph nodes. The lymphatic system is the body's immune system and generally there will be no problem. The reason why there are lumps behind the ears of roseola infantum is because of viral infection, which causes swollen lymph nodes. The swollen lymph nodes will generally disappear within 3-5 days after the infection is controlled, and there is no tenderness. If the condition persists for a long time, the lymph nodes become larger or more numerous, and there is pain, it is considered to be lymph node inflammation. You should seek medical attention promptly and have a pathological examination. If the enlargement is obvious, you can consider removing the lymph nodes. What to do if the lymph nodes behind the ear are inflamed in children with acute rash 【Systemic treatment】 1. Acute lymphadenitis should first control inflammation to prevent its spread, and use effective and sufficient antibiotics such as penicillin, streptomycin or other broad-spectrum antibiotics. Medication can also be selected based on the drug sensitivity test of the specimen. 2. For tuberculous lymphadenitis, isoniazid 100 mg, 3 times a day, for long-term use for 18-24 months, and streptomycin 0.5 g, intramuscular injection twice a day. 3. Supportive therapy: supplement necessary vitamins and fluids, and regulate electrolyte balance. 【Local treatment】 1. Apply anti-inflammatory powder externally to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. 2. Application: If tuberculous lymphadenitis breaks through and forms fistula, you can apply streptomycin on the basis of removing the sinus tract and scraping the diseased tissue. 3. Blockade therapy: When the abscess has not yet formed, penicillin and procaine solution can be used for peri-lymph node blockade (a skin test is required first). 【Surgery】 1. When purulent lymph nodes are accompanied by oral abscess or cellulitis, incision and drainage should be performed to remove pus and necrotic tissue. 2. Single or active proliferative lymph node tuberculosis that is not well treated with anti-tuberculosis drugs can be surgically removed and pathologically examined. |
