After the birth of a newborn, doctors often perform a series of examinations, and the frequency of chest compressions is a very important indicator. This frequency data can effectively reflect whether the child's heart rate is normal or whether he or she suffers from congenital diseases. The normal frequency of chest compressions is 80 to 100 times per minute. If it exceeds this range, heart disease should be considered. Effective treatment can be sought as early as possible and effective measures can be taken. Let's follow the editor to learn more about it. External chest compression is the name of the past. In order to distinguish it from open chest compression, external chest compression is now called closed chest compression. However, external chest compression seems to be more acceptable, so it is still called external chest compression here. 1. Patient position: The patient lies supine on a hard bed or on the ground. If it is a soft bed, a wooden board should be placed under the body to ensure effective compression, but do not delay rescue time in order to find a wooden board; 2. Rescuer position: The rescuer should be close to the patient's chest. To ensure that the force acts vertically on the sternum during compression, the rescuer can adopt different positions such as kneeling or using a footstool according to the height of the patient; 3. Determine the correct pressing position. The correct pressing position is the middle and lower 1/3 of the sternum. The specific positioning method is that the rescuer slides the index finger and middle finger of the left hand along the costal arch to the middle to the intersection of the costal arches on both sides, that is, the substernal notch, and then places the index finger and middle finger horizontally above the substernal notch. The middle part of the sternum above the index finger is the pressure area. Place the base of the palm of the other hand on the patient's sternum close to the index finger, then remove the positioning hand, overlap the base of the palm and place it on the back of the other hand, so that the fingers are lifted up and away from the chest wall. You can also cross the fingers of both hands to lift the fingers. The rescuer straightens both elbows, places both shoulders in the center above the patient's sternum, keeps shoulders and hands vertical, and presses downward with force. The pressure depth is 4 to 5 cm, the frequency is 80 to 100 times per minute, and the pressing and relaxation time are roughly equal. When performing closed-chest cardiac compression on children, the compression location and frequency are the same as those for adults, but the compression depth is 3 cm. The movements should be steady and not too strong. If the target of external chest compression is an infant, the operation is somewhat different from that for adults and children. The pressing point for the baby is one horizontal finger below the intersection of the line connecting the two nipples on the sternum and the midline of the sternum. The rescuer presses with the middle finger and ring finger. The pressing depth is 2 cm and the pressing frequency is more than 100 times/minute. Do not use excessive force. |
