I believe many people know that newborns are very weak after birth, mainly because their immune system and various functions are at a developmental stage. During this period, it is easy to suffer from some diseases. In order to prevent their newborns from getting sick and causing certain harm to their bodies, some parents usually give their babies some vaccines within 30 days of birth to reduce the risk of disease. So can the vaccinations that newborns should receive within 30 days be postponed? What are the consequences of postponing it? Infants cannot be vaccinated in advance. The country has formulated a clear vaccination plan, which divides the time periods according to the acceptance level of the infant's immune system function. It has been implemented for many years and is very scientific. We should not break this rule. The baby's immune system is not yet so perfect. If the vaccine is given in advance, the antibodies produced may be relatively small and will not have the corresponding immune effect, so do not vaccinate in advance. Some babies born in February should pay special attention. February is 28 days, and they should wait 30 days before getting vaccinated. It is necessary to be particularly cautious when vaccinating infants and pay attention to certain matters to avoid immune intolerance or adverse reactions that may cause pain to the child and the family. The main situations I know about are the following ones, in which vaccination needs to be postponed and it is necessary to wait until the child recovers from the illness for 3 days. 01 Low birth weight That is, for newborns weighing less than 5 catties, or less than 6 catties in some places, vaccination needs to be postponed. I have seen a child weighing more than 15 kilograms who could not get vaccinated in time and had to wait until he gained weight to get vaccinated. 02 Jaundice Vaccination should be postponed when the jaundice value is greater than 8. Some places stipulate that vaccination cannot be done when it is greater than 5. There are many such situations. My baby had severe jaundice in the early stage, and he was not given the hepatitis B vaccine until the value dropped to 8, which was delayed for about 10 days. 03 Recurrent colds Vaccination should be postponed when you have a cold, fever, runny nose or cough. My baby had a cold for a while, and the vaccination was postponed for 3 weeks. It will soon be connected with the third hepatitis B shot. 04 Diarrhea The baby cannot be vaccinated if he has diarrhea. The community here defines diarrhea as having bowel movements more than 4 times a day, or changes in stool characteristics. Normal poop is soft yellow stool, while abnormal poop is green in color, with increased water content, foam, etc. It is normal for breastfed babies to have curds in their stools. Therefore, before vaccination, be sure to consult your doctor whether you can get the vaccine. But in fact, when my baby was vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine at more than 40 days old and with polio vaccine at 3 months old, he defecated more than 4 times a day. No abnormal symptoms were found when receiving the hepatitis B vaccine. After being vaccinated against polio, it was discovered that the child had defecated more than 6 times in 3 days, and had a red buttocks, seemingly with inflammation. This should be considered an adverse reaction. BCG, polio, and polio sugar pills should be given 2 weeks after recovery. 05 Eczema In severe cases of eczema, vaccination needs to be postponed. Some eczema is so severe that it is horrible and must be cured before going. Mild eczema has no impact, for example, it is okay if there are only a few red bumps on the face. 06 Red Butt Vaccination should also be postponed when diaper rash is very severe, the term is called perianal abscess. If you find that your baby's buttocks are broken or have abscesses, do not vaccinate him for the time being. 07 Oral thrush, skin inflammation Vaccination should also be postponed if you have thrush, severe skin inflammation, or pus and bleeding on the skin. |
