Children with fever and low platelets

Children with fever and low platelets

Children are the group most susceptible to illness. Every winter, children are most likely to catch a cold. When children have a fever, they often have low platelet counts and thrombocytopenia, which also places a great psychological burden on children. Therefore, patients with low platelet counts often need psychological counseling and treatment. In addition, the condition may be more serious if the fever is accompanied by low platelet counts, so you should actively go to the hospital for examination. If necessary, you need to be hospitalized for observation for a period of time until your condition is completely recovered.

Treatment of thrombocytopenia

1. Psychological treatment:

Some patients with thrombocytopenia will become very depressed and anxious when they learn that their condition requires long-term treatment and recuperation. However, this negative emotion will seriously affect the patient's recovery from the disease, so in order to help patients cure the disease faster, it is necessary to keep a happy mood.

2. General treatment:

Acute patients mainly experience heavy bleeding within 1 to 2 weeks of onset. Therefore, in the early stage of the disease, they should reduce activities and avoid trauma, especially head trauma. Severe patients should rest in bed, and actively prevent and control infection. Give adequate fluids and easily digestible food to avoid damage to the luminal mucosa.

3. Transfusion of fresh blood or platelets:

Treatment for thrombocytopenia should be chosen with caution and is only used as an emergency treatment for severe bleeding. Because of the presence of antiplatelet antibodies in the blood of thrombocytopenic patients, the transfused platelets can be quickly destroyed and have a short lifespan. Therefore, blood or platelet transfusions cannot effectively increase the platelet count.

4. According to the actual condition:

Traditional Chinese medicine treats diseases mainly based on macroscopic syndrome differentiation, while modern medicine diagnoses and treats diseases mainly based on microscopic examination. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. Combining syndrome differentiation with disease differentiation can complement each other's strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Syndrome differentiation and treatment of thrombocytopenia, regardless of the type, can be treated with drugs that increase platelet count, which can achieve good results. For example, the Selaginella purpura recipe uses the method of invigorating qi and nourishing blood, and is taken orally after decocting in water. It is safe and reliable for treating thrombocytopenic purpura.

5. Pay attention to rest:

Because thrombocytopenic purpura is a serious disease once it occurs, and the damage to the patient's body is also serious. Therefore, for the sake of the patient's health, he or she must rest in bed and pay special attention to avoiding trauma so as to prevent fatigue from aggravating the condition.

6. Diet adjustment:

(1) Eat 50 to 100 grams of raw peanuts with skin every day.

(2) 100 grams of peanuts with skin, a pig’s trotter, and an appropriate amount of old lotus root nodes, cook them together into soup and serve.

(3) Add 200 grams of peanuts with skin, 500 grams of spine with meat or pork liver into water and cook into soup.

When it comes to the treatment of thrombocytopenia, we must remain vigilant at all times. If any symptoms of the disease are found, early treatment is necessary to avoid the harm caused by the disease.
