What are the benefits of swimming for babies

Although babies are young, they often need to swim because swimming can relax and cool their bodies in the hot summer and avoid heat stroke. The baby's body needs proper exercise, and swimming can exercise the baby's reaction ability. The ability to distinguish and the body's immunity can also be improved. If your baby swims regularly for a long time, he or she can grow taller and healthily. The baby's digestive system is also constantly improving, and swimming can improve the efficiency of the digestive system. So what are the benefits of swimming for babies?

1. Regular swimming can improve the function of the respiratory system of babies. Due to the pressure of water on the chest cavity, the intercostal muscles are exercised, the alveolar ventilation is increased, and the pectoralis major and minor muscles are exercised and strengthened due to exercise.

2. Swimming for babies can consume excess fat and utilize muscles in all parts of the body to make the body shapely and healthy.

3. The baby's brain function will also be improved during the swimming process, allowing the baby's brain to respond quickly to the external environment and develop intelligence well.

4. Regular swimming can develop babies' myocardium, active metabolism, and a slower and stronger heartbeat than babies of the same age, which prepares them for bearing greater physical loads.

5. Swimming can also improve your baby’s immunity to cold and disease. Accelerated the rate of growth and development.

6. Swimming for babies can promote the secretion of hormones (gastrin, insulin, etc.) to help the absorption of food and increase gastrointestinal motility, so it can increase weight and promote high-quality growth and development of infants and young children. The result is: eat more, absorb faster, and have a strong body.

7. Swimming for babies helps to establish a good sleep rhythm and change the baby's sleep time. Let the baby exercise during the day and swim in the morning and afternoon. He will naturally sleep well at night. After exercise, he will sleep especially well when he is tired.

8. You may not know that baby swimming can also train your baby's communication skills and appeal, laying a solid foundation for forming a unique personality charm.

The three stages of anaerobic respiration

Phase 1

In the matrix of the cytoplasm, it is exactly the same as the first stage of aerobic respiration. That is, one molecule of glucose is decomposed into two molecules of pyruvate by the action of enzymes, releasing a small amount of [H] and a small amount of energy in the process.

Reaction formula: C6H12O6 + enzyme → 2C3H4O3 + 4[H] + 2ATP (a small amount)

Phase II

In the matrix of the cytoplasm, pyruvate is decomposed into alcohol and carbon dioxide, or converted into lactic acid, under the catalysis of different enzymes. It is important to note that in high school, the second stage of anaerobic respiration of cells does not produce energy. But in college and biological research, the second stage of anaerobic respiration in cells actually produces a little bit of energy. The reason why the new textbooks ignore this is that too little is produced to be enough to synthesize ATP, so it is dissipated in the form of heat energy. Therefore, in high school, it can be assumed that the second stage of cellular anaerobic respiration releases energy but does not synthesize ATP.

Reaction formula: 2C3H4O3+4[H]+enzyme→2C3H6O3(lactic acid)+energy(a small amount) or 2C3H4O3+4[H]+enzyme→2C2H5OH(alcohol)+2CO2+energy(a small amount)

Main process

In the hexose stage of glycolysis, glucose is first phosphorylated to form glucose-6-phosphate under the catalysis of hexokinase, consuming one molecule of ATP, and then converted to fructose-6-phosphate by isomerase, and then phosphorylated again by fructosekinase to form fructose-1,6-bisphosphate, consuming another molecule of ATP; in the triose stage, fructose-1,6-bisphosphate is cleaved by aldolase to form dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (the two triose phosphates can be converted into each other under the catalysis of isomerase), the latter of which is catalyzed by glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase to form 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate, while NAD+ is reduced to NADH, and then 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate is converted into ATP and 3-phosphoglycerate in the substrate-level phosphorylation reaction catalyzed by glycerate kinase, 3-phosphoglycerate is converted to 2-phosphoglycerate by mutase, and then phosphoenolpyruvate is formed by enolase, and finally pyruvate and ATP are generated in another substrate-level phosphorylation reaction catalyzed by pyruvate kinase.

Under anaerobic conditions, NADH is reoxidized to NAD+ through the reductive metabolism of pyruvate. During the alcohol fermentation process of yeast, pyruvate is oxidized and decarboxylated to produce acetaldehyde under the catalysis of pyruvate decarboxylase, and then acetaldehyde is reduced to ethanol under the catalysis of alcohol dehydrogenase, while NADH is oxidized to produce NAD+. During the glycolysis process under muscle hypoxia, lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate into lactate, accompanied by the reoxidation of NADH to NAD+.
