How to treat children's frequent constipation

Constipation is a common physical problem. Many people suffer from constipation due to improper diet or poor lifestyle. Constipation can cause endocrine disorders in the human body to a certain extent. While causing pain, it can also affect human health, so it is necessary to regulate the body in certain ways. Below we will introduce in detail the methods to treat constipation.

1. Eat more fruits

Part of the reason for baby constipation is because the baby has a hot constitution. For older babies, you can feed them some heat-clearing fruits, such as watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. If your baby doesn’t like to eat fruit, you can cook some mung bean and coix seed syrup for him to eat. For younger babies, you can take the soup to drink.

2. Diet adjustment

Baby constipation can be treated by adjusting the diet in daily life. Drinking more water can effectively improve the symptoms of dry stool. Babies can improve constipation symptoms by eating small and frequent meals, and mothers can divide the nutrients their children need for the day into five meals.

If a breastfed baby shows symptoms of constipation, he or she can eat some complementary foods that have a laxative effect, such as vegetable juice, tomato juice, etc. Older babies can eat some fruit puree, vegetable puree, etc.

It is well known that children who drink milk are prone to constipation. Therefore, for bottle-fed babies, parents can add more white sugar in the milk, one tablespoon per bottle of milk, and can also add some milk cakes, which will help with bowel movements. Babies over 5 to 6 months old can add complementary foods such as porridge, noodles, minced meat, fish paste, chopped vegetables and fruits. The cellulose contained in these foods can stimulate intestinal peristalsis and help form stools, thus achieving the purpose of laxative.

3. Massage and conditioning

Baby constipation can be treated through massage. Mothers can use the pads of their fingers to gently massage around the baby's belly button in a clockwise direction, which can promote the baby's gastrointestinal motility, help the baby's digestion, and thus have the effect of defecation and bowel lubrication.

4. Use Vaseline

Apply some Vaseline on the baby's anus and press the anus with soft toilet paper or cloth. Push, pause, and do it slowly more than 10 times. Mild constipation only takes 1 minute, while severe constipation can be discharged in 5 minutes.
