Flat warts are a viral skin disease. Its pathogens, like common warts, appear as flat papules that are scattered, soft, smooth on top, millet-to-mung bean-sized, light brown or above the skin surface. They are common on the face, back of the hands and other exposed parts. They are extremely contagious and have a certain degree of infectiousness. The longer the onset of the disease, the more likely it is that flat warts will form severe pigmentation and easily induce other serious consequences. They should be treated promptly. There are actually many treatments for flat warts, including laser, topical application, folk remedies, etc.

It is common on the face and back of the hands, with scattered distribution. It manifests as round, oval or irregular flat papules of normal skin color or light brown, ranging in size from a pinhead to a lentil, with a smooth surface, hard texture, scattered or dense, or fused into small pieces, and may be arranged in a beaded-like manner due to scratches (isomorphic reaction). There are no subjective symptoms, and itching often occurs before subsiding.

Flat warts on the face are caused by the papillomavirus. Flat warts are the size of rice grains or mung beans. They are flat, raised papules with a smooth surface and a hard texture. Currently, facial flat warts can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine. The internal medicine for treating facial flat warts is to take 10 grams of safflower per day and soak it in boiling water as tea.

For the treatment of flat warts, take 0.2g of Virus Ling orally, three times a day, for one month as a course of treatment. Polymyxin B injection 2mg~4mg, intramuscular injection, twice a week. Transfer factor 2 mg/time, subcutaneous injection, twice a week, 3 weeks as a course of treatment. 25% Psoralea corylifolia tincture can be applied externally, which has a certain therapeutic effect. For a few scattered flat warts, you can also add 100 grams of distilled water and 5% potassium antimony tartrate solution and apply it to the wart surface until blisters appear on the affected area. Then spread boric acid talcum powder to promote drying and scabbing. The wart will heal when the scab falls off. If the number is large, it can also be done in batches.

Flat warts are more common in teenagers, especially girls around puberty, so they are also called "juvenile flat warts". The reason why flat warts are hateful is that they especially like to appear on the face, seriously affecting the appearance and hurting one's "face". Western medicine treatments for flat warts mostly use hormones, antibiotics, and vitamins as common drugs, and even use lasers and liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. However, these therapies are highly irritating to the skin, and can easily leave scars if not handled properly. They also have many side effects and safety hazards, and the recurrence rate is extremely high. For specific treatment, you should consult an expert in the hospital in time and not receive treatment blindly.
