White spots on the corners of the child's eyes

White spots on the corners of the child's eyes

If white spots appear on the corners of children's eyes, parents must pay more attention, because there are many causes of white spots, and white spots can spread, so children must be taken for diagnosis. There are many causes of white spots, such as vitiligo, which is a common skin disease that causes white spots, so everyone can pay more attention to it.

Infantile vitiligo is an acquired localized or generalized skin depigmentation disorder. It is a common skin disease that affects beauty. It is easy to diagnose but difficult to treat. In medicine, this lesion is usually called depigmentation. According to experts, this disease occurs all over the world, with the highest incidence in India. About 10,000 people are infected in my country. It can affect all races, and there is no significant difference in the incidence between men and women.

Characteristics of vitiligo in infants

1. Disease condition : The earliest onset of vitiligo in infants is at birth. Those who develop the disease before the age of 10 account for about 15% of the total number of vitiligo patients. There are significantly more female children than male children.

2. Location of skin lesions : About 50% of the lesions of infantile vitiligo are located on the head and neck, about 28% on the lower limbs, about 18% on the trunk, and about 6% on the perineum. The first sites discovered are often the external genitalia and perianal area. The initial skin lesions are often located at the knees, elbows, forearms, hands, heels and other areas susceptible to trauma.

3. Distribution of skin lesions : In infants, generalized lesions account for 33% to 42% of the total number of children with the disease, those distributed in dermatomes account for 17% to 9%, and those localized and sporadic account for 30% to 50%. There is evidence that about 41.3% of children with stage-type vitiligo are younger than 10 years old.

4. Changes in the condition : The age at which skin lesions first occur has little impact on the condition of vitiligo. Since infants with vitiligo are mostly in a stable stage of illness than adults, the condition of most children with segmental vitiligo can be relatively stable one year after the onset of the disease.

How to take care of the skin of children with vitiligo

From birth to about 2 months, the baby's sebum secretion will be relatively vigorous due to the protection of hormones obtained from the mother during the fetal period. But after this period of time, the original "protective shield" gradually disappears, and the baby's sebum secretion will decrease rapidly, making it easy to become dry and rough. Babies have a high density of sweat pores and are often very active, which causes a large amount of water evaporation from their bodies and increases their demand for water. If the baby's skin is not replenished in time, problems will easily occur. After autumn, precipitation decreases, the sun shines stronger, and the air becomes less humid than in summer. However, the baby's skin's regulatory and resistance abilities are still weak, so dryness becomes a common phenomenon on baby's skin.
