How to treat sinusitis in children

Sinusitis is a disease that cannot be completely eradicated even with surgery. Generally, you should go to the hospital one week after having a cold to check whether you have a tendency to sinusitis. Otherwise, once you get sick, it will easily recur. According to hospital clinical data, the cure rate of sinusitis is not high, and sinusitis is mostly caused by colds. Parents tend to ignore it and think it is just a more serious cold, which causes their children to suffer from sinusitis. The children are uncomfortable and the adults are upset, so care is particularly important. How should children with sinusitis be treated?

The main treatments for sinusitis include:

1. Drug treatment of sinusitis: Anti-inflammatory drugs have a certain effect when they are first taken, but the effect is slow. In addition, taking too much anti-inflammatory drugs will have serious side effects on the human body, causing disorders in the patient's body metabolism, reducing the body's immunity, and easily causing other complications.

2. Surgical treatment of sinusitis: General traditional surgical treatment for stubborn diseases such as apical sinusitis is generally only a temporary solution and not a cure for the root cause. It is difficult to cure it in one go and is prone to relapse, which not only increases the pain of the patient, but also brings great mental stress and heavy financial burden to the patient.

3. Microwave treatment for sinusitis: Using microwave surgical treatment machine, this treatment method is more advanced than the previous two, but because it only removes the surface, it cannot achieve a complete cure and is also prone to recurrence.

Prevention of sinusitis:

1. Pay attention to nasal hygiene and develop good hygiene habits of washing your nose in the morning and evening.

2. Pay attention to the method of blowing your nose. If you have a stuffy nose and a lot of mucus, you should press one nostril and blow your nose out with a little force. Then blow alternately. When the nasal mucus is too thick, wash the nose with salt water to avoid damaging the nasal mucosa.

3. Maintain the correct posture when swimming and try to keep your head above water.

4. If you have dental disease, you should get thorough treatment.

5. During an acute attack, take more rest. The bedroom should be bright and well ventilated. But avoid direct wind and direct sunlight.

6. Take medication promptly as directed by your doctor.

7. For patients with chronic sinusitis, they should have confidence and perseverance in treatment and pay attention to strengthening exercise to enhance their physical fitness.

8. Smoking, drinking and spicy food are strictly prohibited.

9. Keep a cheerful temperament, avoid mental stimulation, and be careful not to overwork.

10. You can massage your nose regularly.

11. Washing your face with cold water every morning can effectively enhance the disease resistance of the nasal mucosa;

12. Correct bad habits: Protect your nose hair and nasal mucosa, and overcome bad habits such as picking your nose, plucking your nose hair, and cutting your nose hair;

13. Wash your nose frequently: When washing your face in the morning, you can wash your nose several times with cold water, which can improve the blood circulation of the nasal mucosa, enhance the nose's ability to adapt to weather changes, and prevent colds;

14. Massage Yingxiang acupoint: Use the middle or index finger of both hands to massage Yingxiang acupoint (located in the depression of the nasolabial groove on the outer edge of the nose) back and forth. Massaging this acupoint helps improve local blood circulation and prevent nasal diseases.

15. Colds and rhinitis should be treated promptly to prevent them from developing into sinusitis.
